Not really. What if you have a BRD? I'm usually sitting on 75% mana when a BRD is in PT. I even make myself nuker and/or 2nd nuker to contribute to damage, and I still wind up having tons of MP. A quick rest between pulls gets me back to full fairly easy while regaining 6mp/tick from refreshes.

Why use convert if I have 350/765mp then (as someone else mentioned) we get an add, then expend my mp pool helping heal, sleep, etc, then run out and be useless when I could have 765 mp waiting to be used.

You have to be smart about it.

Most of the time I only convert before/during chain4, help heal and finish up the mob to save WHM & BLM's MP so they can kill the chain5 monster fast enough.
