Don't fight mobs with tough self-buffs solo if you can't dispel? It's not like there aren't subbable dispels, if you need them *that* bad. And some buffs can even be "dispelled" by acid bolts.

It's no worse than not fighting petrifying mobs solo if you can't de-petrify yourself[*], or not fighting self-destructing mobs solo if you can't stun, or not fighting mage beastmen solo if you can't silence or stun, or not fighting pots and ahriman solo when you're a BLM, or not fighting slimes and clots solo when you're a monk. Pick your targets based on your capabilities, or in a party, pick your party members based on your intended targets.

I have three of the most different jobs in FFXI and all of them can solo competently on the right targets, which are different targets for different jobs.

Yes well for quite a long time that was totally unavoidable and at certain level ranges it still is (or at least the alternatives blow)

Or have you forgotten what a complete pain in the ass crawlers crabs and beetles can be with no dispel? (At least not a frequent one like RDM's)

You know, I think we pretty much covered the topic at hand. Does this really need to degenerate into yet another game/EXP mechanics discussion or yet another broken idea wishlist for Malacite? Players always have and always will find the weakest shit to fight, before ToA, that was crabs.

Long of the short - Elemental Arrows suck. Elemental Arrow procs are as LOL as Enspell damage.

Want better damage arrows pre-60 and post scorpion arrows? I'd sooner use Bodkin arrows than elemental arrows. If I want magic damage, Holy Bolts have the best longevity of most ammo in the game, especially with a good MND build. Use your AF pants and move up from there.

There's really nothing more to say.

23+ hp/swing of hateless damage that feeds no extra TP with a multihit weapon isn't really something to scoff at in many situations.

semi-on topic but oh lawdy I hit 20% gear Haste in my TP set now, the Enspell damage is nasty at the moment with ESword + Joyeuse, but I'm really hurting for a Justice Sword.

Enspells are much more worthwhile when you can give them to everyone, not so much when its just one guy that has them, mulit-hit or not.
