Melee Build
Gonna post this here since if I went to any other COR or RNG forum in the world it would degenerate into some kind of flamewar.

I'll preface this by saying this is much more for my COR than RNG, too. I melee a bit on COR since I have a Joyeuse and I still TP with ranged, but at a much slower pace than I would ever consider doing as RNG... well... unless I ever get blessed with K Club or Ridill anyway, but that's neither here nor there.

Three pieces of gear I have are detrimental to the melee side. My Behemoth Rings and Qiqirn Collar. The Collar I don't mind so much, there's -4 attack and -4 accuracy, but the Behemoth Rings really bring me down a bit further with the -22 accuracy on them.

I have an Optical Hat and recently got my Pahluwan Khazagand and that takes care of the accuracy deficit mostly, but I feel I could also move into Sniper Rings since I usually eat Squid Sushi for my AGI on Quick Draw and Acc/R. Acc already. I never meat it up on COR/RNG unless I'm merriting on Greater Colibri on mobs in the mire, but almost always meat it up on RNG/WAR or /NIN (there's no kill like overkill).

So snipers are one improvement.

I was also looking over a Haste build. Its meaningless for ranged attacks, but would prove useful for /NIN excursions and Joyeuse play. So I was looking at Dusk Gloves and Dusk Ledelsens. Crimson Finger Gauntlets I can macro out and for feet I'd already be actively moving War Boots (ranged) and Crimson Greaves (Quick Draw) or Savage Gaiters (Slug Shot). I also have Swift Belt I can macro in and out with Gun Belt (ranged), so with Dusk, I'd see 9% Haste, dunno if I can pile on any more Haste with all that's already there.

And yeah, I macro a lot of stuff, I can't hit a macro without something changing, even my buff macros sneak in things like Suppanomimi. Its just how BRD and RDM trained me to think. RNG and COR are almost worse to write macros for. Each new piece of gear I get, I go and rewrite to include it

Re: Melee Build
In all honesty... to me melee build is more trouble than its worth. You'll need to carry a melee set of gear (i hate carrying too much crap) then you're rng TP gear and then ur rng WS gear... and goodness forbid if you ever use an o-bow for anything and the 3-4 (effectively 6-8 inv spots used, 1 for cases 1 for active) types of bolts you need to carry.

edit: well if its mainly for your cor then obow isnt a question.

If you are looking for a quicker TP solution look into /sam. 18 TP off bow per shot and meditate. You get seigan for some defensive purposes too.

If you're still bent on melee gear well, I'm sure you know which gear works well at 75.

Re: Melee Build
I do generally melee for TP once my MM is capped out each level for COR, at least for XP parties(I gotta save money at some point >.<) I haven't so far needed an actual separate melee build, and in fact I actually am trying hard to not have more than 4-5 swap pieces for COR since I have about 60 RDM and 30~ BRD pieces already taking up room, and I want to be able to have gear for all 3 jobs ready to go on my main character at all times. Instead I use Spectacles for the neck(+7 acc/racc) and rather than having on the 2 racc+/acc- rings while I melee, or dropping loads on sniper's/woodsman's, I wear a Garrulous Ring on the left and an AGI Ring on the right as my base rings. My racc+/acc- rings swap in when I used a normal RAtk, and then swap back to my base rings.

For WS I only swap in one racc ring, and leave the Garrulous Ring on for the STR boost. I don't have too many problems missing Slug Shot so far like this(as you're aware once you hit 60 COR you're pretty much rolling in racc), and since my base rings aren't acc-, with sushi I hit the mobs pretty easily to build TP when not using ranged attacks. Taking away the -20~ acc while you're actively meleeing and not shooting is much easier to me than keeping a full separate melee set IMO(and cheaper!)

Also, with the AGI from the base rings I don't need to swap anything on my QD's except for Moldavite's, and maybe Crim Greaves when I get that high.

Re: Melee Build
I'm going to back to work on SAM sub for RNG after I get BLU sub for COR wrapped up so I can move it forward 40+ after some other subjob work.

I really want the SAM sub, too, its just levelling is such a bore when stacked against the attentiveness my other jobs demand. I fall asleep playing it anytime its not /RNG, basically.

After some play in sea, Limbus and other stuff, the accuracy I have right now feels ok, possibly good enough to do away with one Behemoth Ring for Raja's (when I get it) in most cases save for something like Mamool Ja Staging point merriting or Byakko. Or just anything annoyingly evasive.

So I'll probably just save up for the Dusk stuff. Even if it doen't prove ideal for COR, it'll be nice to have for other jobs.

+5 AGI, Clear Mind, Auto Regen and Magic Attack Bonus from Set spells

Wild Carrot and Healing Breeze for party cures. MND gear to benefit that and Savage Blade. Cocoon for occasional needed protection.

Overall, it's COR's best QD Accuracy sub, BLM would be best QD damage sub, but RDM and BLU outpace it in terms of support abilities. RDM does have Dispel and cures you can target allianced allies with over /BLU, though.

/BLU also grants access to Vorpal Blade
