I began playing as a mage hoping to aspire to be a blm. Now i read the census and noticed not many rangers and theives are in play currently so i cannot decide between mage or ranger or theif. Also, black mage is i think most or close to the most played class in the game. For overall gameplay experience what do you all reccomend? thanks.

don't think for a second that thfs are in demand because they're not common or black mages have a hard time looking for a PT because they are. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 03-25-2007, 07:42 PM | #4 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Mar 2007 Posts: 14 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 841 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 841 Donate | Re: a bit of a pickle ok. Qufim is a terrible place to be sure but I flew through it as a THF and as a WAR. With BLM I would literally sit around for hours and I don't mean 2. I'm talking like 3 or 4 and wouldn't get an invite. I'm not the kind of person who builds parties, I don't want that weight on my shoulders. But hey if you got the gift of gap then go for it. But you are probably better off building a party as a BLM. All in all I think it depends on what time of day you play too. -The Last Honorable Gamer - Notice: If I ask any thing stupid or it seems like I haven't done any research it's because I'm at work bored. Ranger sounds fun and so does blm and so does theif, but i dont know if they are because i havnt played many of them | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 03-26-2007, 04:59 PM | #8 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: ny Posts: 279 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 122 Thanked 4x in 4 Posts Gil: 17,493 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 17,493 Donate | Re: a bit of a pickle If this helps as a lvl 37 BLU I can tell you, at least on Lakshami, that I have no trouble getting a party invite(even when I'm not looking). As the others have been saying, it depends on what style of play you want. I went with BLU because I like the way BLU can dish out the damage(dd) while taking hits from the mob(tank), and if needed can heal themself and the party(back-up healier). I would tell you that BLU is a complicated job to learn. I cant pick the job that is best for you but I figure I would at least give you a few reasons why I went with the main job that I did.
Lastly: remember in the end you have to play the job you choose. I would look at the aspects of each job you are choosing from, instead of just choosing the more popular job. u have to know when to hold them, know when to fold them | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 03-26-2007, 05:02 PM | #9 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: ny Posts: 279 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 122 Thanked 4x in 4 Posts Gil: 17,493 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 17,493 Donate | Re: a bit of a pickle Originally Posted by Jarre | | If youwant blm, level whm so you can sub it, you may get more invites if you agree to backup heal. What is the point of not healing if you are subbing WHM? Even if in a back-up healing role, any mage job that subs whm should not be surprised to have to heal at some point. u have to know when to hold them, know when to fold them | | ::Quote Selected:: | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | All times are GMT -8.
