Specifically...
Creek Clomps: Lv. 62 HP+35 MP-35 4STR 4VIT -3INT
Scout's Socks: Lv. 74 HP+12 5VIT 10Rng Atk -3Enmity
I currently wear clomps and have an overall STR oriented setup.
Currently with my setup, I have 56+42STR and ~60Rng Atk (depending on moon phase for selene's bow and not including food).
I really dont particularly like to macro in and out pieces unless I really have to, so with that in mind which do you think have the most benefit in terms of dmg output only? Omni@Remora: NIN75 RNG75 MNK75 COR75 BST63 BRD45

My first suggestion would be macro in the clomps for WS and socks for TP, but if you hate doing it that much, then I'd probably stick with the socks. I would try both though and see which works the best. I RNG 75 I WAR 37 I NIN 38 I SAM 50 I Woodworking 92+2

STR is used to determine WS dmg because of the (Your) STR vs (Mob's) VIT calculation.
STR also raises the curve of your max damage and how often you hit that curve.
Att raises the value of your damage immediately and eventually caps out.
This is my understanding of the two attributes.
So, if we take into consideration the application of the equipment and the usage of WS, we need to ask several things.
Overtime, will you be able to pump out more WS's than damage over time?
If you will be able to spam SS & SW to no end, then it'd prolly be best to just stick w/all STR gear, if you hate to swap gear in and out. Otherwise, if you're doing more dot, then use r.att.
But, the optimal situation would be to swap in STR gear for WS and macro it out in exchange for r.att gear while you're gathering tp.
This is my assimliation. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 03-08-2007, 10:10 AM | #5 (permalink) | | Lightness Keeper of Knowledge Join Date: Apr 2004 Posts: 2,393 Style: Light - Version 4 My Mood: Thanks: 92 Thanked 129x in 77 Posts Gil: 10,564 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 10,564 Donate | Re: 4STR vs 10Rng Atk? When it comes to melee stats, attack > STR for DoT, while STR > attack during WSs. If you can afford to hold onto both pieces of gear, you might want to attempt a best-of-both-worlds approach by macroing in the Creek Clomps for WS, and macroing back to the Scout's Socks for TP. If you have a good tank you have alot more give on your hate. If you have a ninja with bad hate control even on ws you may wanna keep you scouts on, yes you may be gimping your ws. But you gimp your pt more by taking a dirt nap. Nin is the only job i dont have to gimp my self on because i want hate lol. Lots of dds get all happy by tearing hate, but sometimes lowering your damage slighty to make the mages use less mp is alot better the playing with your epenis.

I have this fear of losing my PPA lol and i know with things switching around, lag and w/e im going to fire it w/o unlimited shot and /cry.
