RNG a Luxury?
Currently playing a Taru 24 RNG/12 NIN, capped Archery and Marksmanship with very good equipment (Leaping Boots, +1 Beetle Rings, Arquebus/+1 Power Bow/Almogavar Bow, Garrison Tunic, Martial Slacks, etc.) and I cannot buy an invite.

Over the past three nights I've spent nearly 10 hours sitting around Jeuno or Kazham and have been completely unable to set up a party of my own (regardless of the fact the people I'm inviting have the flag up), and haven't had a single invite. Not one.

So is this just how it is? RNGs get crap for invites? I love this job, but I don't wanna waste hour after hour trying to find an xp pt. It's great for my crafting, but that's about it.

Could just be your server, peoples views of jobs I'm noticing change from server to server. I've been playing RNG/WAR for a long time and never have trouble getting party invites.

Re: RNG a Luxury?
I'd just stick it out. It often goes in waves. There's been times where I've looked for party for a cpl days w/o getting invites (though I usually only have my flag up for an hour/hour and a half tops). Then there's the days where I'm constantly getting /tells even when I don't have my flag up. Some days are just better than others. I'll also occasionally check to see who all is lfp in my lvl range. If I notice a high rollover rate in other people getting parties and not myself, then I might think something is up. Usually though, hardly anyone thats my lvl range who's lfp is getting invites. Occasionally a person or two will, but its usually other party roles like tanks, supporters, etc.
Best I can tell is to just give parties options. Have both war and nin leveled and put it in your search comment.
Atleast on Fairy people still like RNG's. Especially if you're a good puller. If you xp on a consistant enough basis you should also start seeing repeat invites from the same people. People will remember you, and you'll get a lot more invites that way.
I'd say just stick it out and it will eventually come around full circle.

Re: RNG a Luxury?
Its difficult these days to get PT as rng. I have trouble getting invites, mainly cuz towards 75, everyone wants to burn. Rng tp gain isnt what it used to be, so we get passed up for one of the hundred nin, war that are seeking. After that, there's sam and mnk for fast tp/big dmg jobs.

Ive been stuck at 74 for a week now.

Also, you have to understand, how many people are seeking at your level? A lot of -my- problem is that theres 30-60 ppl seeking from 70-75. It stays that way for quite some time too, meaning that people dont want to start PTs. Everyone is just waiting to get invited, so why dont you start your own pt?

Back from a week long vacation. How's everyone? :p

Re: RNG a Luxury?
in a merit PT I usually like Rng a lot, especially if we're hitting the mires.

Re: RNG a Luxury?
I love mire. I have the luxury of standing outside of amensia range and still be able to do decent dmg.

I just hope that the rng update might give us a little more flexibility on distance.

Re: RNG a Luxury?
Lufaise is still the best place for RNG i think. I seem to see more RNG shine there than anywhere else. Plus it is a bit harder at that spot than the new area.

Although, I have also seen RNG/WAR go freaking nutz in the thickets and blast all others out of the water.

But, like someone said, it comes in waves. RNG waren't what they used to be, you just have to seperate yourself from the crwd somehow. Whether it be rep or play style, something like that. Just be persistant when you start parties. RNG gotta act like MNK and DRG of old and just bear with it for a little bit.

Re: RNG a Luxury?
If your concerned about not being able to keep up with tp gain in burn parties, there is always the option of subbing samurai, if you have it leveled that is.
You shouldnt be taking so much damage in a burn pt that the lack of utsusemi is noticable. /SAM still has third eye, and upcoming changes can potentailly add merit to the choice of sam as a sub

The question is how effective are the JAs gonna be?
the only two-handed weapons we can use are probably elemental staves (well... fire/vulcan staves are the one we commonly use). Counter-attacking with staves is plausible? we have 0 combat skill in staves, so accuracy is abyssmal. Until someone propose a better idea, I am not attracted to Seigan that much.
I can only pray that Hasso will boost racc and boost STR considerably well.

Thanks,

Re: RNG a Luxury?
RNG invites are no worse than any other DD 20~50 and since the new xp spots in ToAU have opened up RNG invites past that have really sped up, as with DRG and THF. Many of the new leveling spots favour jobs using piercing weapons, and RNG is probably the most prominently noticable of these (Sidewinder massacres Colibris/Puks).
