Do i need to lv both?

I tried looking and wasnt victorious in finding the info i needed. In your guys opinion do i need to level both marksman and archery skills for rng?

Well i didnt lvl my mrksmanship until I was lvl 60, for 2 reasons, 1 was a bcnm that used sleep bolts 2 cause i am not going to be able to get a hold of the 2 end game bows (the e-bow or selene's bow), dont have an LS with enough people to coordinate getting either, so to get from lvl 50 to 70 (i promised myself i would upgrade my bow at least every 10 lvls) needed to switch to a crossbow.

Crossbow advantages: status bolts, especially acid bolts, holy bolts are awesome for DoT and then mythiril and darksteel bolts for weapon skills.

Bow advantages: Acc arrows, outstanding dmg, the acc arrows are also the arrows for weaponskills (until you can get the windurst special arrow and unlimited shot....just make really really sure you switch back before you shoot again)

I dont like guns (both in game and in RL) so i can not comment on them other than to say i have read that they are in fact the best dmg weapons for rangers.
