Sweet Spot on Dhalmel
I've noticed lately in bibiki bay that the sweet spot on Dhalmel is a bit further then the normal one (ex. 9.1 distance on the windower plugin instead of 6.1). I assume this is because you can still melee them at a distance of 6-7. Has anyone else noticed a difference like this on any other large mobs?

Sounds like you are talking about Slug Shot or Sidewinder. I'm pretty sure peacemaker posted something about that WSs sweetspot being a further distance away then a normal shot would be at. Sounds something like what you may be experiencing.

Here is were peacemaker posted something along what I think is what you are experiencing.

Reverse the Changes to Rangers!

Closed Thread though so can only look at it now.

Re: Sweet Spot on Dhalmel
not talking about just the ws but that was the easiest way to show the diff between the spots. My norm shot with o-bow and holys at 6.1(normal sweet spot for xbow) is about mid 70s to the low 80s. At 9.1 its mid 90s to low 100s.
Now if the dhalmel Berserked my dmg jumps to like 240 per shot. Btw this is with 2x Minuet and acid bolts.

Re: Sweet Spot on Dhalmel
Are those numbers w/ added dmg, or only the base dmg?

I also dont recall reading anything the patch info that said the type of mob also affected distance for best dmg. Is 6.1 for sure better than 9.1 on all other animals?

Re: Sweet Spot on Dhalmel
Excuse me, but I'm not understanding the difference between 6.1 and 9.1.

Is 6.1 the spot to normally fire off ranged weapons?
Is 9.1 the spot to fire off WS?
I was under the impression that each weapon had a different distance of when to shoot normally and WS, was I wrong?

Re: Sweet Spot on Dhalmel
On most mobs that is correct. However, he's saying for some reason on dhalmels in bibiki that he was hitting harder normal shots at the same place as he normally does weapon skills.

Re: Sweet Spot on Dhalmel
Using the distance plugin on the windower for distance, right?

The distance plugin judges from the center of the mob. The game judges from how far away you are from the mob's edge.

So you get larger stuff, like Dhalmels, and the sweet spot is a little further back.
