Re: After the Update! you going to continue ranger ?
Nerf or not, I'm rushing to get my RNG to 37 to use as sub for my RDM. I did the same with NIN, DRK, WHM, SMN, and BLM. I pretty much arrow burn as more I shoot allows more SC and BLM MBs for a quick kill. I may even continue playing RNG post-37 since I like it so much.

RDM 75, BLM 73, WHM 42, SMN 41, RNG 40, NIN 37, DRK 37, THF 25, WAR 20

Re: After the Update! you going to continue ranger ?
you think SE will read this and understand nerfing rng will not helping drg joing exp pt and HNM like kirin etc...dragon still gimp
no matter what you do to rng's and nin's , Dragon's Still gimp .
SE need to fix or delete dragon's so other job can enjoy without nerfing here and there,

i really like dragon's cute but still gimp job and we have 0 dragon on our LS .

Re: After the Update! you going to continue ranger ?
Dragoon, not Dragon, big difference. They're not gimp either. You're overrated. ESPECIALLY Pre-Sidewinder. A lot of jobs can open Distortion more powerfully than, I believe, its Split Shot? So what if you get the TP fast? You still have to wait for the THF to get TP. Aslong as whatever job can open Distortion can match the THFs TP, then damage is my only concern. Youre not trying to race the THF. Particular jobs that beat RNG in Distortion-opening damage is Samurai (Tachi:Enpi <3), Dragoon (Almost everyone of their WSs that they get before you get Sidewinder can open Distortion), and Dark Knight (Vorpal Scythe). Wait, thats more than half the DD jobs in the game! It seems the only ones who cant provide a more powerful Distortion opener pre-Sidewinder is the jobs that cant open it even if they wanted to (Warrior and Monk).

Re: After the Update! you going to continue ranger ?
rangers wont become nerfed... only people who find it tiring to think about a strategy are going to feel that it has been nerfed

like it was said before: if you play it right, your actions will actually make you stronger

and relmo:

holy crap you're funny

Re: After the Update! you going to continue ranger ?
I don't see this much of a nerf. Really if anyone would pay more attention to their surroundings instead of trying to force logic. You can already see that NIN main, RDM/NIN, BST/WHM, and SMN main have proven to be extreemly powerful as is. There was a post shown once were there a single RNG that actually succeeded in beating a RDM in ballista comeon it was such a big deal because someone actually beat a RDM in a ballista and not because the RDM was worn or anything he lasted out and actually beat them.

If you want a job with crazy power it's a RDM/NIN combination not a RNG/NIN. Geez for god sake they go and solo and duo fights that a RNG/NIN can not do and still they can solo the things a RNG/NIN can. So don't give this crap that RNGs are better at solo or have any unique advantage in that matter when another job can basically equal it.

The big gripe I had with resent gear is a lot of it gave a range of jobs range accuracy and not just a little it was enough that with sushi they basically could equal a RNGs damage and accuracy. On top of which the RNG has no extreemly benefitting post-40 thing like the RDM and Convert.

As I see it SE may be giving us the Guns as our holy grail to distinguishing ourselves from others that would do any ranged attacks. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the case that we see more bullet types come out then the 4 or 5 we currently have.

I don't see this much as a gimp but more now a way to prove my abilities, though I haven't had much trouble distinguishing myself from other people using Bows or other RNGs.

Re: After the Update! you going to continue ranger ?
Rangers in 60 balista is a Rdm killer normally barrage can get rid of our blink. sleep bolts will sleep us even with stoneskin. Cancel stoneskin to wake and slugshot can kill us in a single hit. Unless it's an uncap balista where we can /37nin then that might make a difference.

With the change to range attack depending on distance, a Rdm probably can keep rangers within their melee range as a new strategy but still have to wait and see.

Still you see what the RNG has to go throug just to make beating RDM/NIN possible having to waste a barrage, all those arrows going to no damage just to get rid of the blinks and only get to do that 1 time every 5 min.

If thats true....I'm dreading what silvers will skyrocket to in the next few weeks.

I'd like to see a parser of O-bow vs. Musk+1. I know E-bow outdamages both but I'm really curious about which one will do the most dmg, especially after the new update. I still imagine Hellfire will pretty much be the end all be all of endgame weapons (relics not included).

Im guessing the best place to be in general for ranged weapons after this will be just outside of melee range. I'm wondering though if it would be possible to fire off a shot at optimal range, then run in and get a hit or two with dagger/axe for TP then jump back out and fire another. Only time it wouldnt really work is when you're spamming arrows (which is what I usually do anyway right now and I hardly get in any melee hits unless I'm intentionally waiting on them for the last 4 or 5 tp to get me over 100 instead of waiting out the long delay of firing another shot).

I RNG 75 I WAR 37 I NIN 38 I SAM 50 I Woodworking 92+2

Re: After the Update! you going to continue ranger ?
the sweet spot will most likely be outside of melee range. This is a big problem because if rngs want to do full damage with ranged attacks they will not be able to melee for TP, means it'll be slower kills and pretty much completely negate the use of any melee weapons except for stats. Having a woodsville's axe will no longer be a good option. Not to mention the fact that we actually have to PAY for our attacks, its only logical we do the most damage. SE is just trying to get other to jobs instead of just lvling rng as the definitive class, but nerfing everything till nothing is even fun to play anymore is stupid. part of the fun of rng is being able to melee or pull back and shoot, taking that away from us is taking away half of the fun of playing rng. Nobody wants to stay back and press Ctrl-d or hit the same macro for 5 hours.

LOL, neighbortaru....

Well we will see when the update occurs how it's like. If they do end up distinguishing the guns as the better weapon of choice then I'm EXTREEMLY glad I got my crafting skill up to were I can make my own silver bullets.

Re: After the Update! you going to continue ranger ?
yea, i think people are getting a little too upset about this before they even see what ends up happening. i mean, rng could use a slight nerf. i doubt its going to be anything huge. they just want to make other melees become about, maybe still slightly less, valuable.

and about rng's solo'ing. i've seen some rng's solo statues in sky. the ones in the gardens, i think they are EM or T at 75.

Re: After the Update! you going to continue ranger ?
I'm really not conisrned either way. Good Ninja's have the ability to keep hate even if they get a slight hate nerf through the update. Good rangers will always have a spot in the party. Its just going to be a little less easy to preform well at either, giving the more diffcult jobs a better chance at suceeding.
