what brought this about??

well the gears i have equiped ATM cost a significant amount of gil (seen one other person so far with all the HQs im wearing at my level, and that person doesnt level ranger anymore and hasnt for 5 months)

i go party with a hume bow ranger, umm k his bow dmg per hit was 12 more then my gun damage per hit (kk fine he's using curry me sushi maybe thats it)

kk his food runs out and i was sooo annoyed i charged him full price for a sole sushi(witch no curry user would pay for 1/2 hr of food) so he doesnt buy it


he switched to must+1 (i got must+2 and about 8 more +agi not counting w/e my race gives me over him)

we let of slugs, he's doing 20 more dmg on a slug, and a few times mine hit for 595 while he hit for 695


we were fighting orcs in davoi/mon caverns

crit slug damage was 850+ for both of us i landed a few more then him, but thats besides the point.


he switches to bow and now his normal slugs are ranging from 602 to 980+ on crits.


wtf is wrong with my character???

hawkers+1 x2
jaged gorget
must+2 + silvers
Af hat, af body, af feet
nocts+1 hands and legs
amemet mantle+1
r.k.belt+2
drone + genin
scorp+1 rings x2



please for the love of god someone help me, i know for fact SE didnt mean for this to work out like this, am i agi overloaded??? that may sound funny, but ok its hard finding plp who had these gears at my level (seriously i need help no bragging i really wanna know why a warbow+1 user can hit a higher non crit WS then me)


/sigh i dunno you have no idea how irritating it is to slow your xping down to the extent that plp who started rng after me and play 1-2 hrs less a day then me are already 4-5 levels ahead of me and those are significant levels (63-68)


i guess the answer is take a warbow+1 w/ me and try it, i havent done that yet because umm i dont like that bow and well, umm yeah thats about it i dont like that bow.

You're kidding right. He put an "an" before "MMORPG" because it is pronounced "EM EM OH ARE PEE JEE" , not "mohrpuhguh." EM has a vowel sound, hence the "an."

As for Thegod, many people have already told you that AGI is not that most important thing for either markmanship or archery. Other things weigh heavily on damage, such as the food they use, their RNG ATK, their STR, etc. They may have been using +STR gear, or francisca for slightly more +RNG ATK, etc.

And yes, before level 70, PPA Sidewinder is generally better than a silver bullet slugshot. It is more accurate with comparable damage (especially if used with e-bow). Most people only use gun before 70 if they can't afford e-bow. It all changes 70+ since your WS+barrage start giving you 100+% TP with Hellfire and its deliciously huge delay.

My suggestion? Sell your worthless hawker+1's and get an e-bow. E-bow will make 50x more noticeable impact than stupid hawker+1's (I should know, I had both). Buy a PPA with CP too. Once you hit 70, either stick with e-bow if another RNG in your SPT will use o-bow and acid bolts, or sell it and use hellfire/+1. Before then, not much use complaining about gun.

dunno some of you may recall my complaints w/ curry for a while not raising my dmg enough, well dunno but used it last night and wow, yeah got my 1000-1100 slugs back on tormas(sp) this time..

same hume ranger (he liked the party the night b4 last alot)

I was using sushi last time, so i used curry this time...

i still built tp faster then him while doing a great deal more slug damage then his side damage, and my per shot damage was the same 20+ over his pershot dmg.


just subbed out savage gaitors for af boots.....

still missed a whole lot more slugs then with sushi so imo the big damage jump with curry isnt worth not being able to let a slug go at 100% and have it land...


so i guess im saying im good with the low slug damages in exchange for the consistent slug hits and exstreme rarity of a normal ranged shot missing.


it just kinda scared me at first, never seen a bow user do more hit for hit....

The hume scared me because his per hit dmg w/ bow was greater then my damage..

its impossible to observe accuracy so i have no idea how much more my added accuracy helped me, but after our 2nd night together i see that even w/o the curry he builds tp alot slower so he must miss alot more.



was gonna buy the big bow back again last night, but no1 would sell me theirs, then i ditched that plan when i saw demon arrows were 15k a stack actually more costly then silver bullets ATM.

I ptd with mithra rng before who i always do 100~150 higher damage than her ws

All what i do is change ammo before ws she didnt know orz
maybe the guy you ptd with doin the same? if not i think its only the STR diffrent between both of you:p

There is a big diff between curry user and sushi user. I bet if you run a parser, you have higher dmg across all fights simply because you miss less.

You'd think that more stronger attacks WOULD help keep chains going (more dmg = kill faster). There were so many instances where our attk food user would miss his slugshot and bam...chain over (chain6+). Hitting consistantly = win.

yea i was trying to post earlier today saying i was actually feeling quite confortable with the smaller numbers because w/ curry fact is i miss, not a lil i miss alot (alot is all relative) i miss normal rng attacks, witch happens with sushi, but it happens so rarely that by the time i miss again ive forgotten about the previous miss....

with sushi i can miss an entire barrage and feel ok about it because meh i wont miss anywhere near how much i miss w/o it, with curry i miss a barrage, then im all paranoid that im gonna miss my slug no matter what % tp i let it go.

dont care if everyone in the world thinks the taru Af bow rng is outdamaging me, i swear not missing just feels too good, and it takes missing like i did last night for me to realize this.


So last night i missed maybe 30-40% of my barrages on tormas, and even more on those crabs in the boy tree, no matter what5 % tp i went at, i even switched to full agi set up, republic pants mage's cuffs, emp hairpin and nothing helped.

i dunno how you rangers did it w/o sushi a while ago, because its just too great not missing

If sushi is your main food then I pretty sure you can switch in some +STR gear to your set to make your damage better. Otherwise with all that +rng. acc. items and the sushi it is a bit of overkill on accuracy. Also Barrage from my experience it's definatly dependant on DEX, I completly snuffed a Elvaan RNG/NIN's Barrage like it was nothing last night and not just once but every Barrage done he was 200 - 400 damage under me.

I would suggest maybe getting a francesca (ms?) to switch out with one of the Hawker's Knives (Taking a -5 rng. acc. for a +7 Rng. Att. with all that other acc. gear and sushi seems good to me). As far as the RNGs not doing it before without Sushi I don't know what you mean by that, I still use +STR/rng. att. foods and don't have trouble with hitting.

On the other hand too I don't party to often with players that are more then 1 level higher then me, so my accuracy in the party has never been a problem.
