wierd claim about guns from a lv66 rng

this guy is lecroulian on ragnarok.
it began with him saying that rangers own monks vs bones..
he told me how guns aren't like bows and crossbows.. they are piercing, but they will deal the same damage towards ALL mobtypes.. apparently he was backed up by some lv75 ranger named densetsu who was offline...
i explained to him that in this game, certain weapons are particulary effective towads a particular mob type.
i got yelled at for being a retard and we had a lenghty discussion.
so how is it, will a ranger using guns deal the same damage to both flying enemies, crabs and everything else?

Oh well, I'm not too sure about this. Maybe a RNG can clear this up.

Here's what I've gathered after talking to Lecroulian after being interested in the matter...

According to lecroulian, bullets are piercing type, but has an ability/trait of NOT having the pierced attack penalty. (still getting pierced bonus vs mobs... such as flying)

So in effect, bullets would do same dmg to mandragoratypes as bone type mobs. No penalty on any mob from the piercing weapontype. And still extra dmg vs flying.

This is according to lecroulian, who backs his claim by namedropping various lvl 65+ rng's...

Anyone actually done testing on this? That's what I'm interested in. ^^

Guns, xbows, & bows all suffer a damage penalty against bones. Damage is cut by roughly 50%, I've taken some SSs to prove my point.
Enemies tested: Lost Souls (lvl 42-46) & Hell Hounds (lvl 46-49), if there were no damage penalty against bone type mobs then we should be able to hit the Lost Souls with higher damage since they are lower in level. But if you see the SSs, the damage is cut roughly by 50%. I hit the Lost Soul with an average of 160 damage per hit and hit the Hell Hound with an average of 300 damage per hit.

Nice, apparently bullets don't get any dmg penalty even when mob buffs himself with defense up! ^^

I'm thinking he just wants rng to be the best job in the world, so he won't be dissapointed. Well, vs flying stuff, rng > all. Vs bones, mnk > all. Vs any other mob, Gil > all.
