well, personally I think that soloing NM like that is kind of cheap... amemet drops expensive skins yes, but it's usually split and ends up just about as profitable as any other method of earning gil. However, when solo, the reward goes all to one person... it just doesn't seem fair.

I remember when we saw arthros being solo'd for the first time. It took 4 hours and the process was pissing off everyone around them. We were thinking... what if 2 damask threads dropped? That's 2 mil (at the time) to 1 person in less than a fraction of a day... Same with that ninja soloing serket... What if she got serket claw? 6 mil right there for just 1 person... and if serket ring drops with it? 7 mil... just in a day's work. It just seems morally wrong. Provided the game mechanics allows it all to happen, the game mechanics also allow the NM to be taken away from BST... so in the end it's all about moral justification.

Imagine if fafnir could be solo'd. Don't tell me you wouldn't train spiders on his ass XD

you're not the one spend weeks lving bst and die tons of times, you dont know where the pain is commin from and just know that we made the money by ourselves. one thing i did is not like u guys just sayin how cheap xxxx and xxx is soloin NM. instead of sittin there being jealous of ppl, i actually took the effort lv the job. solo in where places no body's at, die and no one's there/ nor anyone would help. dont make stupid comment like that.

like seymoure said, dont matter who you are, they're always a chance for HNM or NM to turn white dependin on attk.

I don't see what's unfair or "unethical" about this...at all <_< That's how BSTs fight everything. It's not as though they're exploiting some kind of hole in the game. BST and NIN are accessible to everyone ingame; just because someone's getting more money doesn't make their tactics cheap.

Just want to add that ghost really doesn't play as much as you think... he just siezes every opportunity he can while online (as opposed to, let's say, my sitting in my mog chatting on LS for 4 hours a day)

As for the unethicity of soloing... basically it's all about job imbalance. Some jobs can solo things that require a group of other jobs at the same level to kill. For example, a 75 RDM/NIN could solo serket with ease, but a 75 PLD + WHM + BRD would have trouble. The monsters have high rewards that are expensive because they are harder to take down and require more effort, and the rewards are great so that they can be split between all contributing members to make the task worth it... but others can reap all of the rewards to themselves easily because of job imbalance.

BST is obviously very different with a different set of rules. A BST can, provided that the tameable monsters in the vicinity are strong enough, potentially take down anything by themselves. Provided they need to switch pets, meaning the target goes white, it is the BST themselves who made up the rule that it can't be taken. As far as I know, BST have hate reset for things like amemet, so they can stop the action for awhile until things get under control (like finding another pet to tame). This would be like zoning out of an HNM fight because you're having trouble, except it's done w/ JA... it just seems unfair in my book if people are expected to let you keep it in this time frame.

For BST soloing amement, I feel that if you have to use that ability to clear hate, it counts as you blowing your shot. You can take it back as fast as you can, but if you lose it then, no whines. If they just take it in between pets and it goes white but is still aggro to you, then yes they're asses... but if you hate reset, you blew it.

Also, even though they were asses to take your monster, you still shouldn't MPK them. 2 wrongs don't make a right.

There is nothing imbalanced about BST soloing things. There needs to be at least one reason for people who have lives to play the game - no other job seems to be soloable from 1 - 75. It takes a tremendous amount of effort to get that far.

And the bottom line is, if you can solo a monster, you deserve the drops. I would say the same about any player who can solo an NM, whether they are RDM, NIN, whatever.

But guys, try to keep the personal insults out of this, or some warning points are gonna start getting flung around.
