Well, most people will tell you that RDM Maat is probably the most difficult Maat of all. A lot of people don't realize this, but when genkai5 was first released, for about the first 3 months he was EVEN MORE difficult. If you don't believe me, feel free to check out the thread I made about him several, several months ago over in the RDM forum. Lotta people who were lvl 70 back in November '03 were having serious, serious trouble beating him.
Anyways, because I'm incredibly stubborn and refused to beat Maat by using some method other than the method I had always played the game, and because he was incredibly, incredibly difficult, and because I was overly handicapped by being Elvaan (2nd lowest MP + lowest INT), it took me about 20 tries.
Yeah. You heard me.
20 tries.
I kept plugging away at it though, and the day the patch was put into place to make him easier, I beat *THAT* version of Maat on the first try. So, I guess it depends on how you look at it. I lost to the original, extremely difficult version of RDM Maat 20 times. That version had many, many RDMs threatening to quit the game altogether because he was so difficult.
But the Maat that most of the NA RDMs have fought.. I beat that on the first try.
Confusing enough answer for you?
