no there will never be Male Mithra, would go against the story line and against the Mithra culture, besides if you want to be a MIthra that bad be one, so what if you would be a female, if you are secure with your manlyness then you should not have a problem

and yeah I know responding with that will start some BS war but that is what it all breaks down to anyway.

arent the male mithras suppose to be the ones that stay home an cook an clean? as does the storyline go. then why arent there any male mithras in the houses, the shops or wondering around shopping?

Apparently there is one male Mithra in all of Vana'diel. He's in Kazham and you can pay 50,000 gil to gawk at him.

But no, there are male Mithra, they just aren't playable, and I don't think there will be. Given the storyline of FFXI, I doubt we'll ever see more races added to the game.

I do think that they could add new races to play... I mean how hard would it be to be able to choose "beastmen" as your race...
I would require minimal programming I would think.

More on the subject though: ok, we can't be male mithras. I guess that is why we can't be hume children, or those fat chubby male hume NPCs, because it does not fit with story and scenario...

But why can't we SEE male Mithras...!? We see all kinds of people all over the place that we can't choose to "play". But why is it such a mystery that someone has not seen a male Mithra yet... we see child Mithras... all female...

Again, I am not getting to the part about us not playing male Mithras (Mithros?), just WHY CAN'T WE SEE THEM?!

Eventually yes, when they finally add the Mithran Homeland which I believe to be in the Far South (not Elshimo.)

Will we ever play as Male Mithra?
Doubtful, as much as I'd like to play as one (if they're Ronso-ish), it doesn't look likely.

I can explain that.....if I am going to stare at something for 8 hours or so out of the day....I want it to be something I will want to look at. l sorry but I just dont want to stare at a guy for 4+ hours every day :p

Well, since people post that question, I'd dare to ask: what's wrong with players playing opposite sex? I didn't know I am a catgirl IRL... it's just a character, just like there are people who play female characters in fighting games, and those who play male in them... do you not play yuna in FFX-2? I think you only get to play as girls...

Well, may be it's just me that don't go online to look for a love(not gonna fall for anyone 200000 miles from my place, you see), so I never care if the player behind the screen is a guy or a girl.

As to the topic: like everyone said, I doubt male mithra would be put in, that'd destroy the whole story of Mithra being a female dominant race...
and wouldn't putting new race in a bit unfair to the players that played for 6 months+? I would want to remake if they made a new race that interested me, but then I would have to delete my existing character to make one? O.o; I know it's only a game, but starting from scratch after you had so much stuffs...

Well, I don't know about some of you, but I do NOT want some hairy Galka hitting on me. Theres nothing in the world that would make me be a Female Charector on an online game. Thats truly defines "WTF!?"

you know what, this is why some people are afraid to be female in a game, you are truly a narrow minded person if you truly think this, I have been a female on evry MMORPG I have played and have been it on many times, there is nothing wrong with it, heck I find it funny. If people hitting on you in a MMORPG bothers you THIS much then you truly have some issues you need to seek out.
