Bow/Gun for Nin/Sam lvl 57+
Ok I grouped with my first lvl 55+ ranger today (lvl 58) and all I could think was ... WOW I can finally see why people play ranger. Looking at ninja and samurai they both have a C/C+ in gun/bow respectively, and I was wondering if anyone has ever grouped with a ninja/samurai subbed ranger which has used these kind of WS (sidewinder/slugshot). The skill difference between C and A isn't as large as I thought it would be, and it seems like a ninja/samurai could do great damage using guns/bows and the sidewinder/slugshot WS. I have never seen or heard of anything like this though... but it definitely makes me want to play ninja more. o.O If anyone has some actual experience or feedback with it I'd appreciate it... just throwing ideas around in my head right now.

Still trying to play way too much...

Pretty much all the level 60+ Warriors and Samurais have subbed Ranger for Sidewinder/slugshot.

Samurai has crap DEX though so I don't know how effective it'll be, but if its anywhere near as powerful then damn, it's worth it.

Never seen a Ninja sub Ranger though, so no idea about them. I mean, it's already expensive enough to keep up with the ninjutsu, the arrows/bullets will just eat your wallet even more TT

I really should thank you for it afterall it was your life that taught me the purpose of all life.....Purpose of life, is to end.

I hate my life.

I've always said when I get around 60 and I get my bow to 175 I'm subbing ranger.
2hr = 4 sidewinders in a row.

and ranged accuracy doesn't use dex, it uses agi.
which sam doesn't really have (TT)

I'm sorry, but this will not be practical when fighting tough monsters (tote and up). At high levels, the differences between A- and C/C+ is a LOT. You will see, especially square (intentionally?) enhance the evade of lots of monsters after lv62 or so (Skimmer, Processionaire, Korrigan, Darter, etc). Pretty much everybody would be using their A weapon and abandoning the rest.

Just look at level 65:
Ranger would have 223. Samurai would have 202, and Ninja would have 201. If you have seen Ranger using sidewinder and slugshot you will know that they require the top accuracy to hit. Sam or Nin would just have too low skill for them to be accurate.

Similarly, the damage would not be nearly as high as a Ranger either. A study was done in a 2ch Ranger thread, that Sam/Rng's sidewinder does about 55% of a true Rng's damage.

Now on the other hand, if you are only using it for killing weak stuff (ram hunting? koka hunting? etc). This would be good (although you probably would rather sub thief and use penta instead)

That's what I was thinking Tongyang. I don't see the point of a samurai subbing RNG in a level up PT...But so many do it :/

I wasn't planning on leveling parties, just fun things like bcnm.
I already knew it was impractical for leveling.
