I chose Mithra as well.
They look awesome and their a blast to play(I also love how the mithra npcs always roll their rrr's). I love their style of fighting and the way they use polearms(me, being a mithra dragoon).
Also, they look fantastic in almost any type of armour.

Elvaan look so goddamned misproportioned. I always thought they should be SHORTER than Humes yet taller than Mithras. Right now they look like Humes with giantism, tiny heads and longer-than-needed limbs.

I like Humes because of the fact that they arent terribly bad at anything, they are the most like me (obviously), and i love being able to do everything fairly well and the challenge of trying to do it better than someone who is better suited for that something.

Galka....big, bad, and ugly. They look mean in any type of armor and they can take a beating. Why people hate the big guys is a mystery. Galka in Red Mage AF=Pimp. I think elvaan have a size complex because they hate us the most.

Only thing that bums me is we have to work so hard as mages but it can be done if you work at it (keep up on your equipment/food).

<-- check my avatar.. Hume, I'm bored so I will summarise my thoughts on each race see if anyone agree's or disagree's.

Hume - Well rounded, which is good for me seen as I have an attention/concentration difficulty and job hop alot It's nice to be a fairly strong melee then jump to a mage job and still have a nice ammount of MP and MND, INT etc.

Galka - I actually wanted to be a Galka, I'm a huge guy IRL too also so playing that on game would be a kinda lil' play on reality for myself, but Galka are limited to very few jobs if you want to play them good, at least untill you hit 75 and can merit. A friend of mine who will remain nameless took WAR/NIN to 75 and knew he wanted to be a mage so concentrated all of his merits on MP and mage stats. So Galka = good race if you are prepared to be melee till you can put effort in to repair their flaws.

Elvaan - ouch I can tell I am going to get flamed for this one please go easy on me this is opinion lol.. but I don't really see much difference between hume and elvaan when playing them although I am aware humes have more MP. Lookwise............. the long arm thing is not an attractive thing to be looking at 24/7.. no i don't attract to game characters lol but you want something cool to look at over your duration of playing the game don't you.. oh and might I add, /sit on an Elvaan male they look like wannabe porn stars lol.

Mithra - good race, perfect for thf.. I spent some time levelling a mithra but then went back to my main char (hume male).. my only problem with mithra and the rest of the female characters is the pervy nature of the game creators. fine they made the game, it's upto them what they put into it but really, staring at a computer characters arse 24/7 cos of some pervy model creator, come on now.. my mithra is now a mule, she has slops and Kujata on to give her some dignity ^^b

Taru - who doesn't love Taru's? but they have their limitations.. take what I said about Galka's and reverse it, you know what I am talking about.

I find it kind of funny how some people rate mithra balancewhise over hume just because of the starting stats. <Think of it... everything changes endgame you will see a difference between Hume and Mithra sooner or later... and by the way way, who said Mithra make the second best mage? Hume and Mithra are equal at that.>

Anyways I like all the races I just dislike the "player" who go oooh my race own so much im so much better than any other race!~

I chose Galka and of course I think they look the coolest. Also, I kinda like the fact that there are few Galka. (I don't know, maybe because it makes me feel different from everyone else)

I have to say that I also really like Taru also. I made a Taru mule and just running from Mog House to the AH was such a change in perspective from playing a Galka. I almost started leveling it
