Divine Might Strategies
To those who have done it - what was your strategy?

We lost 3 times last night, using the supertank method. We tweaked the strat a little bit every time, and it did get better, but we lost none-the-less.

We had a full alliance.

1 party consisted of 2 PLD, 1 WHM, 1 SMN, 1 BRD, 1 something else

My party was RDM, BLM, BLM, BLM, DRK, NIN

Other party was pretty much all DD's, WARs, SAM, etc.

Strat was to time nuke TT, while PLD #1 ran in and aggroed everything. WHM and SMN cure-bombed the PLD and PLD #2 help cure, there as backup tank.

BRD buffing, SMN also buffing with Nocto.

**Problem** PLD needed more curing power, didnt last long enough

Beating on TT was all good and fine except we had to get into range of their stupid AOE's to fight it, and we all at the end of the day, kept dying to status effects.

And as you know, its like once the tanks down, everyone follows Veeeeery quickly.

I want to hear a specific kiting strat if anyone has one? No sites are particularly great on detail.

Thanks

LOL

I have heard and seen the 18 BLM manburn, and unfortunately I dont think that's an option for our LS.

Re: Divine Might Strategies
How about 18 MNK? I saw a JP video of that that worked out nicely.

Try 18DRG, just for the hilarity.

Re: Divine Might Strategies
I have only ever done this fight the kiting method.

The problem is getting the balance between getting the first two AA out the way fast, and staying alive long enough to do this - I know that every single time I have done this, we have zombied it - died after the first two are dead (every time, MR's pet dies at this point). I know you got unlucky by getting the mandy as a pet.

I have never heard the supertanking working for this fight - you can get away with it for some, but a bitch with high hp who can Spirit's Within at will is too much of a risk to stand and take it...

Re: Divine Might Strategies
I can see where you are coming from but I guess its up to the sacks.....

We had a mandy and a tiger , tbh it was so hectic I didnt see much of what each pet did/did not do.

All I remember is doing my duties, then either Tank drops and everyone follows OR hit by 1 AoE WS, and get Weighted, Bound and Paralyzed and Silenced. Before I can Echo Drop and Erase myself, another WS goes off. And Another. Each time taking 250+ off.

And Dispelling RR...urgh.

I'll keep plugging away at the relevant people to try Kiting and hope it works I guess.

Re: Divine Might Strategies
The kiting method worked wonders for me, and my pick up group set the record at the time.

I know in the first party we had NIN NIN RDM WHM PLD WAR

Second party was BLM BLM BLM BLM BRD RDM

Third party was MNK(me) MNK WHM SAM WAR RDM

So...we had a good pick up group I think at least, and we went in, the tanks pulled their respective AA's away, and we killed the TT really fast. No one died during our entire fight, except for one NIN when the Hume Mijin Gakure'd.

The best thing I can suggest, from my experience, is to pull everything away as quick as you can and just get rid of them as quickly as you can. Oh, and save the EV for last of course.

Thanks to Roguewolf for the sig. :D

Re: Divine Might Strategies
[Estya@Ramuh] IronMaidenTroopers vs Divine Might

It wasn't pretty, but it was darn fun. First off, everyone who casts magic or is using a mage sj needs to bring their own Echo Drops. Reraise items are also important. Since it's not a level capped BC, you can buff up outside before entering. It is a good opportunity to use Opo Necklace+Sleeping Potions to charge up TP for melees.

I had specific people dedicated to each AA and set the order in which to fight them. TT is the weakest, but needed to be taken down as fast as possible. If he is allowed to roam around too long, his AoE Amon Drive can end things quick. Any attacker who isn't assigned a specific AA goes for the TT first and unloads. The fastest we got rid of him was under a minute, the longest took 2 minutes.

Blms or Brds are assigned to sleep GK/MR pets as soon as they appear and keep them slept. MR's Mandy is a Blm type, so be aware of that too.

TT > GK. A Nin or Pld can tank GK pretty well, Blu was holding up well also. I was hoping they could Stun or Flash through his WS and prevent Light skillchains. I had the GK team bring him over to the far right side. A tank + healer can hold out pretty well, the healer needs to stay out of AoE range.

GK > MR. She was a toughie. Poison pots for anyone assigned to her because of her sleep AoE attack. Bring her over to the far left side. Pay careful attention to who gets charmed and sleep him asap. We had a charmed Mnk wipe out most of our alliance on one particular run.

At this point you can get rid of the remaining pets or go for HM. Anyone with Provoke can help take the hate off the sleepers in between fighting GK and MR. We got rid of the GK's Wyvern after HM.

GK > HM. A Pld and Whm can hold out for a very long time, a Rdm with Refresh/PhalanxII is also very handy. The goal is to keep HM at bay in the back until TT/GK/MR are gone. This is an opportunity for anyone to rest/recover. Around the 60% mark, prepare for Mijin and only a few attackers should be engaging HM. The range is pretty wide, almost half the arena. Pet users and Smns are useful for this. The other tanks should stay far out of range and be ready to jump in if the HM tanker goes down.

HM > EV. A Nin and Rdm can kite her for a very long time, and bring her up the stairs all the way to the entrance. Our Nin was using an Enmity/Dmg reduction setup while kiting, and Evasion/Haste while recasting Utsusemi. He got KO'd by a lucky shot and the Rdm was able to kite temporarily until he reraised and continued kiting while weakened lol. When all other AAs and pets are gone, bring her back to the arena and kit in a circle. Anyone can recover on the stairs then jump in when ready.

That's how we did it, but I assigned specific people to each AA since I was familiar with most of their playing styles and abilities.

Re: Divine Might Strategies
Yeah, we did have Opo necks and sleep pots for melee.

1st time run for this LS so mistakes were bound to happen I guess, with not knowing what to expect.

1st run the supertank went in before the signal and that ended pretty quick lol.

2nd run was better, except TT didnt come to us like we thought, and so as soon as we got in range of the WS's of all the rest we got battered by Staus effects.

3rd run was a illy Sommoneer Avavar hate thing we overlooked - the smn buffed with Nocto, and as took hate as soon as he dismissed - the Supertank only has aggro-hate so pulling hate was really sensitive.

4th run we went to the TT, and I think again we got stung by AoE WS's.

I WONDER *light bulb moment*

If we leave all the the AA's in the centre, can we carby pull?

Yeah but Faf is out of my time atm, so I don't have to worry about it - I can do other stuff.

And we do a lot more than just Faf (though sometimes it feels like it).
