a few questions on getting Lu shang's rod(the quest)
I just activated the quest to get Lu Shang's rod. I picked the npc which wants moat carp(sweet-easy to catch). I have only read 1 guide on the quest but from what I understand I have to catch 10,000 of them? If this is correct does the NPC let u know how many fish that i have cought upto that point, or is it like the DRK quest where u have to keep tract manually?Lastly, would I be better off trying to fish the 10,000 fish, or should I spend the 6k a stack(how long will it take to catch that many fish?)

u have to know when to hold them, know when to fold them

Re: a few questions on getting Lu shang's rod(the quest)
Yes, you need to trade 10,000 Moat Carp (Forest Carp are also acceptable) to the brother with which you initiate the quest. (Either brother will work, but once you've initiated the quest you must trade the carp to *that* brother.)

The brothers can't count so talk to the female Elvaan standing behind them. You might have to talk to her a few times, but eventually she'll give you your total Carp count.

You'll have to decide whether you fish them up yourself or buy them. Personally, I fished up my own and now I'm working on getting my husband a Lu Shang, too.

SE has implemented a 200 fish maximum per RL day limit. If your fishing skill is low, though, that maximum is smaller. There is also a fatigue limit. Fish, items, and "you didn't catch anything" all count toward the fatigue limit.

Guesstimate as to time would be 3 months minimum up to however long. For casual fishing, it took me about a year to complete the quest. But I'm a very casual gamer and I don't fish every day and sometimes went weeks without fishing.

That kinda put a damper on fishing them up quickly. I have my fishing skill upto lvl 11. I found the quest on accident(I was actually looking up the quest for the Friar's rope and came across it). If nothing else it gives me a reason to start fishing again(haven't fished in 2-3 months-I hope I remember how to)
