Garlaige is hands down the worst zone in the game. I can understand the way SE designed Eldieme -- grab a friend, and two people working together can reach every coffer spawn point. But Garlaige is just pure torture. I wish SE would consider reducing the requirements for opening each gate to something like 2-out-of-4 or even 3-out-of-4 pressure plates being pressed.

I had to get Garlaige coffer for BST AF not long ago. I had to suffer through working together with 3 strangers to get past Gate #3, having everyone wipe, and barely pulling off Reraising and surviving a fight with a nearby Fallen Major. My reward for getting past Gate #3? I had to compete with around a dozen RMT accounts doing their own coffer run. That was not a fun experience.

I had to try and co-ordinate with 3 other JP players on who stands on what plate. In the end I just ran to one and stood on it until they figured the rest out XD

Every time I'm in Garlaige, there is always that one guy. You know, that guy who doesn't remember how to use the switches. Who never has his own method of sneak/invis, and who wants to go AFK when everyone is just getting into place.

He's the same guy who dies outside the door, and wants everyone else to come back around to raise him.

I hate that guy.

BST will be my second (and hopefully last) time I have a coffer in this hellhole of a zone. I also have a CZB coffer (again), which is just as bad.

Could be worse, I guess, I could have temple of ugg or Ifrit's Cauldron again.

For me, getting the key for Castle Zvahl Coffer was bad. But actually finding the coffer wasn't that big of a deal.

Let me put it to you this way. A PLD friend of mine needed to find his Zvahl coffer at about the same time. He didn't have WHM or RDM leveled to sub. He was dirt poor/cheap, so he wasn't going to be using oils and powders. He'd helped me get my coffer key there, so when he asked me to help sneak/invis him to find the coffer, I decided to do it.

So as a lvl 56ish WAR/WHM, I kept both me and him sneaked and invised around Castle Zvahl Bailey long enough to check pretty much all of the coffer spawn points.

I'll do THAT any day over having to go to Garlaige to find a coffer.

You will be able to do most of it hehehe. I did, only really got help for killing the elemental for my hat, but that was only cause I couldn't be bothered to go change after Manafonting.

I dunno, I think Garliage Citadel and Ifrit's Cauldron might be tied for worst coffer spawn points ever.

Ifrit's mostly because unless you want to fight Bombs or Bees with like 3k Final Stings you've got to wait until night falls and bats come out.

I can't say how hard finding the coffer itself is there, I literally stumbled across it like 3 minutes after getting my key, so I got lucky.

I got my coffer key from a bee, Super Jump > Final Sting =^.^= :D

I'll be honest, I have no idea. I know I have Salvage, Dynamis and prolly HNM camping on Saturday, plus I promised a merit party to a friend, so I dunno...

I've only helped hunt for an Ifrit's Cauldron Coffer Key once, and it dropped fairly quickly. I wasn't surprised by that, given that you need to loot a coffer there to obtain the map for the zone. In my experiences, coffer keys for zones where the map is obtained from the coffer seem to drop more often than other coffer keys. I don't have any substantial evidence to back this up, though.
