Try this.
You don't hardly lose any gil and it moves up your fame pretty quick.

Re: Bastok fame

Warp scroll quest only needs fame lvl 2. I always did moss. It only needs one, so your stacks go further. Boyadha moss sells for 10k a stack on Fairy, and in the quest you get 7200 gil returned, so you don't lose much gil. 3 stacks of moss should get you more than enough fame, would probably take you to lvl 3 or 4 honestly.

EDIT: Oh, forgot to mention, the nice thing about this quest is that it levels your Sandy and Bastok fame at once.

Re: Bastok fame

actually, it's very easy to get fame for warp scroll (and you don't have to leave bastok at all): http://ffxi.somepage.com/questdb/9
if you start at 0 fame, repeat it until she asks you to check out the signpost (her next quest). you now have enough fame for warp.

Exactly! Moreover, turning in Boyhada moss raises Jeuno fame, which is really important for future quests (and Sleepga II quest, which you will need). Also, you're going to want to make a macro for trading moss to the npc, as you can only trade one at a time.

Re: Bastok fame

It may be hard for a level 17 blm, no sub, no choco, and no warp to make trips back and forth to Selbina from Bastok. I would suggest Neighbortaru's idea. Seems alot quicker and less dangerous.

Boyhada Moss is unfortunately subject to Auction House price fluctuations and is generally the most expensive way to go on this quest. Even though you cannot macro it (and it takes quite a long time), I recommend you do corn instead. It is available cheaply from the Aragoneau Regional Merchant and from Raimbroy's Grocery when San d'Oria is not in 3rd place in conquest.
