Re: Impossible Chocobo Quest Problem. Please Help!
Yeah, the path Icemage showed for that Zone is about the routes I takes starting from Tahrongi Canyons. They are the fastest routes I can find there.

As for Tahrongi Canyons, about the only place that'll slow you down in the huge Mountain that splits the path in a left and right road. The left is fastest, there's a section on the left side were you can cut-through the mountain. It's like 3-5 min. shorter on that route.

Re: Impossible Chocobo Quest Problem. Please Help!
After just finding out I can get exp scrolls...I'm gonna do these every time >_> I had no idea, cause I tend to talk and autorun while on choco, so I'd always get Gyshal Greens when I tried...man I've really gotta start doing this, this is my key to getting ninja to 37(can't stand it x_x; ) :D!

Re: Impossible Chocobo Quest Problem. Please Help!
If you can get the scrolls consistently, the exp/hr you get from doing these is actually pretty decent.

Re: Impossible Chocobo Quest Problem. Please Help!
That's what I've heard...also my LS is just starting to do escort missions in large groups, but it ended up being on Sunday nights, and I always work ; ; But yea, if I can avoid leveling ninja and just use exp scrolls I'll be extremely happy @_@

Re: Impossible Chocobo Quest Problem. Please Help!
These exp scrolls you get from the choco runs - can they only be used once, or can you use them over and over?
Something new I found out for myself today.
I decided to spend some conquest points at the gate guard in my chars home city of Sandy. I bought some THF gear and a Chariot Band. Click Here
I instantly noticed the "Experience point bonus: +75%" and felt somewhat excited over this thinking...... 75exp, WOW! This is cool!
So I left the city gate to go out hunting, placed the ring in my inv and used it from my items list hoping that I would get 75exp from every kill I made.
But unfortunately no, I wasn't getting the exp as stated on the ring.
Why doesn't it work for me? What am I doing wrong here?
It also has a "Maximum bonus: 500" but I'm not completely sure what this means. Pleas could someone help me out here?

Re: Impossible Chocobo Quest Problem. Please Help!
snowball, it says + 75% exp... as in + 75% of the exp worth of the monster

and the maximum bonus means it'll stop working when you've accumulated 500 points of "extra" exp.

as for the scrolls, no, it's a one-time use

Re: Impossible Chocobo Quest Problem. Please Help!
To use an EXP ring that you've purchased with conquest points, equip the ring, wait for its timer to elapse (you should see the timer ticking in the item description in your inventory, should be around 1 minute). When the ring turns blue, Use it, and you'll have a new icon on your status list called "Dedication" which will increase the amount of any experience points you gain from defeating enemies by the listed amount.

The Dedication effect vanishes when the it has provided its maximum amount of bonus XP above what you would normally have gained (in your case 500 XP), or when 3 hours have elapsed, whichever comes first.

The rings can only be activated once every 16 hours (in real life), and have a limited number of charges before they are "used up" and must be recharged with more points by trading them back to the appropriate city guards.

Re: Impossible Chocobo Quest Problem. Please Help!
The ring gives +75%, so if you fought a mob that would normally give 100 exp, you would get 175 instead. Since you were killing mobs just outside the city gate as a level 14 character you got no experience, so no bonus.

Think you mean to say 175 exp in the second part.

Re: Impossible Chocobo Quest Problem. Please Help!
Hmm...... you said that if I fought mobs which would normally give 100exp. I don't think anyone could solo anything which gave you 100exp.
You usually get around 100exp when you are out partying in groups in Valkrum Dunes, Qufim Island, Garlaige Citadel e.t.c.
So does this mean that the Chariot Band should probably only be used when you're out partying?
If I still seem somewhat confused over this, I'm sorry.
When you come across new items with new features, it can take a bit of getting used to. All in time I guess.

Re: Impossible Chocobo Quest Problem. Please Help!
The thing is, EXP bands (And really, Empress is so much better than Chariot, IMO, but to each their own) give a flat bonus, no matter what amount of exp you get per kill. So if you fight mobs that give more exp you'll use up the bonus faster than if you killed EP and DC mobs. But you're still getting the same amount of bonus exp in the end.

And job depending, you can solo things that give 100 exp. I had my NPC out in Kazham today (I know, that's not exactly solo) and I was getting about 200-250 exp per kill. They were slow kills, and close fights, but I managed.

Re: Impossible Chocobo Quest Problem. Please Help!
I was just soloing things for 140 exp, but the point is that the bonus you get is proportional to the experience you would get normally. So if you soloed a decent challenge mob that gave 50 exp, you would get 87 exp instead, because 75% of 50 is 37.5 and 50 + 37.5 = 87.5

Generally people use those bands in exp parties because it's easier to get the most exp from them that way.

Actually with good EQ you can solo certain DC-EM mobs. Have to pick your fights though, a DRK or SAM would probably get beatdown fast by a Malboro yet a MNK can take them with better ease. Though a MNK is likely to be defeated easier by a beetle but a DRK or SAM could hold their own better.

The whole which fights to pick to do good though is quite lacking on this MMORPG, most jobs by around lv. 10 abandon solo play for parties.

You'd be suprised what some jobs can do. Blue Mages for example can solo EM-T mobs for some pretty easy chains, I did manage Chain 5 solo on mine once. BLM can solo just about anything they can sleep and I've know NINs that solo IT mobs.

That said, the rings are best used in a party though when you can get exp faster. Also I'd recomend the Empress band over the Chariot Band. It may only be +50% rather than +75% but it can give a total of 1000 exp rather than just 500.
