In the NM Chigoe battle on this quest, is the Chigoe like all the other Chigoes?
and if that's the case, will i still get the CS after the battle?

by like all the other i mean one hited by job ability....

When I went, I had about 13 people. Two of which were MNKs who dropped ~1k Asurian Fists on it, and a PLD who Shield Bashed it. So no, this isn't like most Flees in the game. You will actually have to kill it.

That being said, it's not that tough. A SMN may actually be able to solo it. Put a big Predator Claw down on it, and let Garuda slap it silly until you can put another P.C. on it. But this is just a guess from having gone once, I just know I've seen my SMN buddy drop 1200dmg on an IT EXP mob at Lv.75, so I'm guessing he could probably do some very serious damage to this little thing.

no, NM chigoe don't apply to that. Would be too easy.

Even though he has en-aspir and hundred fists on constantly, he's not too bad as long as you kill him quick. A melee and a healer should be able to take him out. Just have the melee unload on it. I know when I did it, the DRG took out huge chunks of HP in a short time with a couple of WS.

If I had to guess, i'd say 3000-4000HP, max. Just get some people that know how to do damage.

tdh - Level 65 and 70 blood pact damage slows down pretty fast on stuff weaker than SMN usually. 1200 is about how much my eclipse bites do to EPs. I can do 1500ish on too weaks, assuming they don't resist physical damage and have enough HP to actually live through any multi-hit blood pact...

That being said, I've soloed this. Cast blink/stoneskin. Summon avatar of choice (Ramuh/Garuda/Ifrit/Fenrir being top choices.) Talk to ???. NM pops, avatar auto assists you. Use blood pact on NM. Run away a bit, to get distance between you and the NM. Resummon once it kills your avatar (and it will). Resummon as needed, getting distance between yourself and your avatar+NM after each time. Only took me two blood pacts, but it might take three if your avatar misses too much.

Moral of the story? Abuse a SMN. I've "duoed" this thing a ton. The second person being there only to pop it. (Most of the time it's a RDM/NIN that tried to solo it.) It's right outside of whitegate, I wouldn't imagine it'd be too hard to get help for it.
