You don't need to get the imprints from Batallia or Sauromugue in order to get the Crawler's Nest map. However, the quest is not complete until you do so (and you still get a gil reward for them). Because I've started over a few times over the years, I've had a few opportunities to do this quest. I've never noticed any difference in phrasing or subject matter among the Stone Monuments.

A friend of mine had completed all but two (but not the ones I mentioned), still could not get the map. The Batallia and Sauromugue ones are the hardest, so people usually skip those. Lucky for me, a whm from my linkshell escorted me to every one of the mounments.
