I have a really annoying question. For the "Only The Best" quest for the farmer in Selbina, I turned in LOTS of millioncorn worth 72+ quests done for repeation, but my fame did not rise. It may have raised my Selbina fame, but not San d'Oria and Bastok. I really don't understand why this is happening. >_< Please solve my bad situation.

Takes about 15-20 stacks or so, and you'll have hero fame in those three nations. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 06-16-2006, 03:49 AM | #6 (permalink) | | The dodo's conundrum Brain of Knowledge Join Date: May 2006 Posts: 1,529 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 110 Thanked 297x in 199 Posts Gil: 360 Bank: 30,180 Total Gil: 30,540 Donate | Re: Selbina Quest - "Only The Best" Moss, cabbage, and corn all raise fame in Bastok and San d'Oria (and, consequently, Jeuno). All Selbina quests raise Bastok and San d'Oria fame. The moss gives the most fame, followed by cabbage, then corn.
72+ quests with the corn is 6 stacks of corn. So, yes, that wouldn't budge your fame a level, as it's not nearly enough. It took me upwards of 80 stacks of corn to get my San d'Oria fame to level... 5, if I remember correctly. If you want your fame to rise more quickly, go to each of those two cities and do all the individual non-repeatable quests that you can handle at your level. Getting a quest to show up in your "Completed" list adds much more fame than repeating any of the repeatables. Ellipses on Fenrir There is no rush. If you're not willing to take your time, don't be surprised when no one wants to give you much of theirs.

This is the first time I've heard that the same quest can return different amounts of fame based on the turn-in item. But I confirm that all Selbina quests raise Bastok and Sandy fame (and thus, raise Jeuno fame as well). I turned in LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of cabbage for my fame to rise significantly.
I'd have had to turn in more, but I did many other quests in Selbina, Bastok and Sandy which earned me more fame than just repeating Only the Best. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 06-16-2006, 04:20 AM | #8 (permalink) | | Hates you all. Mostly because Sandy was in control of Zulkheim at that time, and I had the OP warp too. So it made running back and forth very very easy. I forget quite honestly how many stacks of cabbage I traded, but I do remember thinking that I might get carpal tunnel.
Now I have max fame in Jeuno and Sandy, and level 8 fame in Bastok. Not bad. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 06-16-2006, 04:20 AM | #9 (permalink) | | The dodo's conundrum Brain of Knowledge Join Date: May 2006 Posts: 1,529 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 110 Thanked 297x in 199 Posts Gil: 360 Bank: 30,180 Total Gil: 30,540 Donate | Re: Selbina Quest - "Only The Best" Generally, for quests with multiple options for completion, the better the reward, the more fame you get from it. I missed not being able to macro the trade though. I REALLY have to disagree with you about me only having 6 stacks of corn. 3 millioncorn = 1 quest done. 1 stack of millioncorn = 4 quests done. 6 stacks of millioncorn = 24 quests done, which is not how much I did. I did 18 stacks of millioncorn which equals 72 quests done. I also said 72+ plus because I also added ABOUT 5 stacks of la thiene cabbages. That's all I have to say.
Also, thank you everyone. =] | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 06-16-2006, 12:45 PM | #14 (permalink) | | The dodo's conundrum Brain of Knowledge Join Date: May 2006 Posts: 1,529 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 110 Thanked 297x in 199 Posts Gil: 360 Bank: 30,180 Total Gil: 30,540 Donate | Re: Selbina Quest - "Only The Best" Ah, you're right. I forgot to multiply by three. But still. That's nowhere near enough corn to budge your fame. It's more like a full inventory (or as close as you can get) every trip. Fun, huh?
