Clay Tablets - Map of Crawler's Nest

One quick question: based on what I've read, you need to visit the stone markers for this quest and return the imprint to the Mayor of Selbina to recieve the reward (15 for Crawlers map I know). Before I start this quest though, I wanted to know whether the piece of Selbina Clay the Mayor gives you will work only once. Will I have to visit one marker, trade the clay and return to Selbina? Or can I do a long trip and just nail all markers in one shot, only having to return to Selbina once I've hit them all?

This is just one of those quests I don't feel like starting if it means blowing en entire day running back and forth to selbina on foot

Sorry but you have to visit each monument and then go back to selbina trade it to the mayor and get another tablet

if you get your Blm to 17 (i think it is) you can sub it to your war, set your hp in Selbina, get some mp gear and warp back when you get the monument. It'll save a bit of time anyway. Also if you can get a high lev whm to tele you around it'll save you on the outbound runs. I haven't done it yet but when i do I plan on hitting the furthest out points first to help with the old motivation factor to finish.

Too bad you can't get 15 Selbina Clay pieces from the mayor....sigh...I'm in for a LONG day.

Yeah, the quest is a pain. I grabbed a few tablets when I just happened to be in those areas and turned them in when I had time, then spent several hours one day finishing up the rest.

But now I'm never the guy going the wrong way and dying trying to find the secret room.

best set up is whm/blm with teleport/warp. HP in selbina, teleport to get close to the monuments and warp back.
Took me half a day for every monuments except sauromague and batalia. Which is enough for the map.

I did it in 2 settings... 2 hours one day , 3 a few weeks later. Crawlers nest is definitely a good map to have!

I suggest going to ffxi-atlas.com and just find the quest and go down the list one by one. Made it fast and easy to remember where I left off!

Other than make you some gil? Not really. I still plan to do them eventually though.

extra ones each gives 10k gil but one requirse you going through eldime necopolis (same island as sandy 9-1), and the other requires you going through banishing gate 3 in garliage citadel (though there is another way to do it, it requires a single whm/blm going through gate 3 when it opens and everyoen with tablets sacrificing themselves to that evil weapon nearest to the monument, then getting tractored/raised up the cliff).

Say you get the 15 easy ones and get crawlers nest map can you still get the last 2 or do you have to do all 17 and then get the crawlers next map?

You can get the final two after getting the map.

You get the map as a reward for the 15th one. You turn in one at a time. If getting the map stopped you from doing the ones after it, it would be impossible to do all 17.

Just wanted to add my two gil - this quest is well worth it, not just for the map, but for the experience of it. If you really have the time, I recommend that you also do any Outpost Supply Quests you can, since you will be running by quite a few Outposts.
