Gaming Help Please!
I have 2 questions to ask, but one of them is a quest related question, so I'm not really sure where to post it apart from here.

1 - I have reached LvL 30 with my WHM, and I know that Garleiege Citadel is the next place to go for party levelling. My only problem is that I don't know where this place is. I have heard that it is somewhere near Sauramouge Champagne, but I don't know which area.

Can someone give me simple directions on how to get there please?

2 - Having reached LvL 30, I believe that I am now able to do the quest to get the advanced jobs. Does anyone know where I can find any info on how to go about doing this quest please?

The reason you don't see veteran players asking newb questions is not because they know everything, but because they've found good resources. ^w^

Except Icemage and Apple Pie. Those guys know things you didn't know you could know. 0_0

Thanks a lot for the help.
In that page you gave a link to for the Advanced jobs, I thought that you would just do one quest, and you are granted all of the advanced jobs at once.
It's not how I thought it would be. I think I can only just about understand what I'm supposed to do though.

I either want to be a summoner or Beast-master, since both of them have pets.
They're the only ones I'm interested in.

Re: Gaming Help Please!
Nope. Each job has its own quest. The beastmaster and summoner quests are pretty easy, though the latter can take a lot of time. I've heard of people getting it in less than ten kills, but I had to kill hundreds of leeches with treasure hunter before I got my ruby. Collecting the lights is mostly a bunch of running around, but to get indigo, you have to go though Ranguemont Pass to Beacedine Glacier, which can be tough.

Re: Gaming Help Please!
I have now decided that I'm going to do the BST quest, because doing a quick scan of both, I felt that the BST quest was the easiest to do.

Btw - will I need a map for Garleige Citadel? If so, then where do I buy one please?

Treasure Hunter? Am I correct in saying that by that, you mean the 15th LvL treasure hunter trait? Threfore, you are a thf.

Re: Gaming Help Please!
Parties at that level don't stray too far into the citadel, but it never hurts to have a map. You can buy one in Jeuno from Promurouve in the Lower Jeuno Chamber of Commerce, across from the AH.

Almost correct. I did all my leech killing while using level 15 thf as a subjob.

Re: Gaming Help Please!
Thanks a lot for the help.
I found the map eventually after asking someone in my pt this evening.
Everyone had a good time of it too, I hasten to add.

Re: Gaming Help Please!
It's a matter of skill. Navigating a complex area with no map can take a lot of time, and the longer you're in an area full of aggro, the greater the odds are that a mob will catch you as one of your stealth spells fades and send you back to your home point. I died once or twice doing a similar thing getting my Utsusemi and Tonko scrolls in SSG. I could do it without batting an eye now, of course, it just takes a little experience.

Re: Gaming Help Please!
oh wow, that vana'diel atlas is really helpful. not only does it display the map, but it tells you the location of important quest/AF stuff. I just bookmarked it.

Yes, that atlas would actually be worth $15.

I have also bookmarked that map site and find it quite useful too, but I'm just wondering...... is it possible to actually buy it from somewhere?
If there was one available with every single map of FFXl (rueling out the possibility of the CoP, and the other one [can't remember its name right now] just incase) and marking all importing things like quests e.t.c like "arcadia9" was saying, then I'd probably spend my money buying one. I think it would be worth it for what you can get.

Double Post Edited:
I was saying to someone in my pt yesterday that I found the SMN quest confusing, and they told me that it was more time consuming than confuisng. (I realise they are probably correct too.)

The reason I find this quest rather confusing, is that as I scanned through it, I couldn't understand this thing about the lights. How you have to wait for a certain time to pass before you get cutscenes for each one. I'm quite confused by this.
Also, do you have to be in certain places to get these cutscenes, or do they happen anywhere? I just don't understand it at all. That's why I have decided to do the BST quest instead. It seems rather more simpler to me.

Just one thing about the BST quest though.
I read that you have to find a pth of flowers on Qufim Island.
Can you buy the flowers at the AH, or is it really neccassary that you have to go to Qufim Island to get these flowers?

Also, how many flowers do you have to get?

The quest also mentions that you have to go back to a sick boy in his house. Where is this please?

Re: Gaming Help Please!
for the summoner quest, you have to collect weather elements (you know, like the little rain drop icon you see on the lower left of your screen). You have to zone into a place that has the current weather to "collect" it.

as for BST, no it's a cut scene. you have to go into qufim at night (after 22:00) and {Sneak} past a kraken to get to the flowers. Examine them and you will get a cutscene.

Re: Gaming Help Please!
There is a print atlas that you can buy, but everyone I know that bought it told me it was useless and missing a lot of information.

For the smn quest, you have to take carby's ruby around to see every type of weather in Vana'diel other than light and dark. Every zone only has two or three types of weather that can occur there (including sunny), so you have to run around to a lot of different zones to see all the weather. The one catch is the weather has to be active when you zone in, so if you need the red light and you see fire weather in Valkurm, you have to leave the zone and zone back in to get the cutscene.

For the bst quest, you have to go to a certain place in Qufim and examine a ??? at night to get a key item. Key item, so there's only one and it can't be bought or traded. A Kraken guards it, so you need to have Sneak up. Uhh, I forget exactly where the house is, but it's a door marked "Merchant's House" or something like that near the chocobo stables in Lower Jueno.

Double Post Edited:
Oh, is it a cutscene? Well, you can't just buy them one way or another.
