"Tuning In" questions
Ok, shortly after CoP was released a few buddies and I were messing around in Oldtown Movalpolos and I picked up a "magicked steel ingot" for this quest. Since finally reaching Tavnazia, I've been trying to gather the other two parts. I'm running into a little bit of frustration, however, since I'm the only member of my LS who's reached this point. As such, I've kinda ruled out the Stegotaurs for the moment, but have been giving the Fomors a run for their money.

My question is this: I've been soloing the two spawn camp in Miseraux Coast just outside of the Safehold. (Easier area with bugards and sheep running around). Do the Fomors in this zone drop the file or is it just from the ones in Lufaise Meadows? Also, are there any more relatively easy camps like this one in Lufaise Meadows? I tried one of the tower spawns there next to where players pop Megalobugard. I managed to split off the Warrior, who promptly handed me my butt. These seem to be higher level than the Fomors I'm used to soloing. Did I somehow miss an easier camp here?

As a follow-up question, do any of you know an easy to reach camp for Taurus type mobs in Phomiuna? I expect a trickle of linkmates to gain access this weekend, it might be worthwhile to give these a try if we can find a relatively easy to reach camp. Any ideas you could give me here would be great. Apparently I can do some of the easier tauruses with 4 people, which is what I suspect I'll end up with by then.

Too lazy to edit, so I'll just bump this with more info for anyone else who's stuck.

Easiest Taurus camp: Very first room with Taurus you come to in Phomiuna Aqueducts. I watched a Taru NIN and Taru WHM duo these once, if you're awake enough to avoid the "Mortal Ray" attack by facing away when he does it, these guys are pushovers. I now have a spruce lumber from the first or second kill of these guys. We were waiting for people to show, so in 20 minutes we got about 3-5 of these here. Three spawn, they do link, nothing else in this area aggros except the slimes from the previous area, and one doomed if you get a little lost finding the room. It is safe to camp in the hallway with the fish, provided you don't turn too many corners.

Magicked Steel Ingot drops from Goblin Leadmen, Oilmen, and Tollmen in Oldton Movalpolous. Easiest camp is probably the Moblin Ashman area near the multi-bridge entrance to Newton Movalpolous. Easy is relative here, the mobs are higher level than elsewhere in the zone, but because Ashman drops the Moblin Hotrock needed for Ulegrande Range Map quest, it's easier to find friends to help you camp the area. If you pull towards zoneline on the bottom level where Ashman spawns, you can usually avoid any wandering goblins linking.

Still no clue if I'm at a Fomor camp where extra fine file can drop. I guess I'll just keep soloing them and hoping one coughs it up, or that I get an invite to do JSE subligars.

As far as I know, and as far as I've ever heard anyone say, there's a whole *one* Fomor spawn that can drop the Extra-Fine File. Go to Lufaise (at night of course), and go to east end of the tier 5 orc area (roundabout the center of the map, a little west from the lake).

There's a watch tower there, and it'll have three fomors in it - WAR, BST, and SMN (and thus two pets as well). The WAR in that tower, as far as I've heard, is the only enemy that can drop the Extra-Fine File. Haven't heard anything about it dropping from non-WAR fomors, or from WAR fomors elsewhere.

On the bright side, the drop rate doesn't seem to be too bad, drops once every few kills. Only problem is, of course, the whole undead-only-at-night issue.

Tuning Out is significantly less hassle. You only have to farm up *one* rare-ex item for that one (from ... Mantrap, I think is the name, the flytrap enemies in Misareaux near Riverne or Sacrarium). You also have to kill off a group of bees - who build up sleep/lullaby resistance, be careful - in Yuhtunga. Other than that it's just a few buyable items and a lot of running around.
