Sandy : bats wings and flints stones
Windy : crawler calculus
Bastok : ???
i got a ton of flint stones from kings tomb for what i heard was a repeatable flint stone quest in bastok similar ot the on in sandy. Got there, it's 4 flints stones a day. Whats a good quick repeatable quest other than running the steam clock one? Ashmaker Gotblut - 0/34

Well I always like doing the Trader's quest. U go to the Trader's Home(L-8) and speak to Salimah. She is looking for something to cook. Anyways u can trade her sleepshroom, treant blub and wild onions. The trick here is giving her the item on the right time to get more gil for it.
Here are the best times to trade her food:
Sleepshroom: Trade it between 18:00 - 5:59; u will get 200gil
Treant Blub: 6:00 - 11:59; u will get 200 gil
Wild Onion: 12:00 - 17:59; u will get 350 gil
Hope this help. Oh and this quest is in Bastok Market. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 08-22-2004, 07:59 PM | #3 (permalink) | | Achiever Keeper of Knowledge Join Date: Apr 2003 Location: Queens, NY Posts: 2,626 Style: Light - Version 4 My Mood: Thanks: 442 Thanked 238x in 139 Posts Gil: 1,911 Bank: 89,521 Total Gil: 91,432 Donate | You want to farm something eh? Well, listen up. Bastok is the home of the Goldsmithing Guild, and like all the spiffy things in our wonderful country, its right near the AH.
Needless to say, Goldsmithing requires Fire Crystals... As a RDM, i used to rape the Vultures with Stone and sorts. Vultures and Gobs drop Fire Crystals, and stacks of those are 2.2k on Gilgamesh. Just take a low level job and go nuts on nothing BUT Vultures until you dont get exp from them.
Oh, Gobs too. It's in Port.
The cooking one is not that good because it can only be done three times per vana'diel day. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 09-02-2004, 12:21 AM | #5 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Germantown TN Posts: 237 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 1,225 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 1,225 Donate | Flint Stone is a horrible one to me because it isn't enough plus other people may do it before you and you'll have to wait a while.
The lady looking for something to cook is great early on because Trent Bulbs are so easy to get.
In Midgard Fire Crystals sell for 2,600 gil. Easy money there. Other crystals though sell for 600 to 1,000 gil. Still good money.
Bernie is EASY money. But before you go if you have a BLM above 17 use him to Warp or ask a high lvl BLM with Warp II to join you or else it's going to be a looooooong boring run
I don't know of any more quick and easy ones though. If you want to know of any sort of easy repeatable quests then *ahem*
Bastok Mine you can look for someone named Goroaw(spelling?) who wants you to get him a Quadav Helm from any that you've killed. He'll give you 900 gil.
You could go get a Dangruf Stone at Dangruf Wadi by searching around(I forget where but you can ask around) and Horatius will give you 400 gil for each you bring.
Kill some Giant Sheep the go to a fire made by Gobs in South G. and Cook the meat making a sausage and go to the Meatlworks and give them to Hungry Wolf whole pay you 300 gil for them
That's all I know :\ | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 08-10-2005, 07:54 AM | #6 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Posts: 14 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 518 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 518 Donate | Re: faming in bastok ive got a red mage lvl 7 is there a good way i can make money? | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 08-10-2005, 07:58 AM | #7 (permalink) | | anti-spam Super Moderator Join Date: Jan 2004 Posts: 5,535 Style: Dark - Version 5 My Mood: Thanks: 22 Thanked 64x in 59 Posts Gil: 45,491 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 45,491 Donate | Re: faming in bastok | Quote: | | ive got a red mage lvl 7 is there a good way i can make money? | Beehive chips from the maneating hornets near fumaroles or on zegham hill. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 08-10-2005, 08:07 AM | #8 (permalink) | | Junior Member Administrator Join Date: Dec 2003 Posts: 4,930 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 235 Thanked 682x in 347 Posts Gil: 21,754 Bank: 79,478 Total Gil: 101,232 Donate | Re: faming in bastok Fame, not farm people. All the repeatable quests in Bastok are annoying, either requiring zoning or having a daily limit or requiring large numbers of unstackable items. The one quest I don't see here is the "Buckets of Gold" quest. Turn in 5 rusty buckets to Foss between the AH and MH in Markets for 300 gil.
The only good way to quickly get Bastok fame afaik is to turn in lots of Boyahda Moss or Millioncorn to Meylon by the Weaver's Guild salesroom in Selbina. Doing that quest will boost your Selbina fame, which in turn raises your San d'Oria and Bastok fame a little. There's no zoning, no limit per day, no time of day nonsense, and the items are stackable and easy to acquire. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 08-10-2005, 08:17 AM | #9 (permalink) | | anti-spam Super Moderator Join Date: Jan 2004 Posts: 5,535 Style: Dark - Version 5 My Mood: Thanks: 22 Thanked 64x in 59 Posts Gil: 45,491 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 45,491 Donate | Re: faming in bastok oops

I looked into what Patchinko said and it looks like a good option. Here's the quest info on somepage: http://ffxi.somepage.com/questdb/38
I had no idea this quest existed. If the prices on sand bat fangs are reasonable, I'll probably be using this quest myself to finish off my Bastok fame. Note that this quest requires level 2 Bastok fame, so you'll have to do a few other quests before you can start grinding on this one. Talk to Flaco at the Steaming Sheep in Port E-6 and if you hear something at least as complimentary as "[Name]? Hmm...sounds familiar. Who was it again? Oh. Well uh...not many people know who you are, but if you work hard enough, word will get around about your good deeds." then you can do the quest. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 08-10-2005, 02:34 PM | #12 (permalink) | | Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Posts: 813 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 44 Thanked 18x in 13 Posts Gil: 4,227 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 4,227 Donate | Re: faming in bastok sand bat fangs? o.O I've never gotten one of those lol

There is one that's repeatable which makes you some money too, may be a small amount of money but still money. That's "Mom, the Adventurer?" just talk to the Nbu Latteh in Bastok Markets to start it, go to Roh Latteh in Bastok Mines (trade a copper ring), then talk to Nbu Latteh again.
You get back 125 gil if you bought the copper rings (75 gil) as long as you don't read Roh Latteh's letter to her mom, if you do then you only get back 25 gil per ring. Quest is repeatable until Nbu Latteh gives you "The Signpost Marks the Spot".
Then again it all depends on what purpose you want the Fame for and how fast. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | All times are GMT -8.
