AF gloves/Bolghertz Quest Problem

If anyone has any ideas how to fix this problem or what I may be doing wrong please let me know.

First background info:
Before playing my BST, I got my brd to 57 or so. Finished AF1, AF hat, AF pants, but not the Arm Guard of Bolghertz quest requiring the castle zvahl coffer and dark spark (had to accept arm guard of bolghertz quest to get af hat, af pants).

Second what happened:
Now I'm playing BST, lvl 57... Finished AF1, accepted AF2, tried to talk to guslam in upper jeuno for arm guard of bolgherz quest but I did not get a cutscene or anything. Wasn't sure what he was telling me, so I went to crawler's nest for the arm guard quest for dark spark...

The problem:
opened up coffer there... and got a hireraise potion and not the daijonomo (quest item) that I was expecting in order to do dark spark.

Now I am wondering what went wrong... do I need to complete the arm guard of bolghertz quest with my bard before I can do the arm guard of bolghertz quest with my BST (if this happens I must be stuck with no BST AF for a while...)? Also, if I got a reraise potion for the crawler's nest coffer, does that mean if I try to open a garliage coffer with my bst, I will not get the BST AF head item from garliage? I am reluctant to ask 3 people to come help me get the coffer only to get some other item. If it helps, I tried checking my daijonomo (I know I'm spelling that wrong -.-; ) list and I couldn't find anything seemingly related to the armguard quest in there, however guslam doesn't give me any options...

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Edit: ok apparently I do have the daijonomo for the arm quest... however next to it, it says bard (I didn't know hyou needed to right arrow for jeuno quests). Is there anything I can do to cancel this or am I stuck with needing to finish the quest with bard before I can do it with my BST and get the other 3 BST AF pieces?

you need to complete the gloves quest for brd before you can accept the bst one. also, you will need to accept the bst gloves quest before you can open the other coffers to get other bst AF. I think the correct spelling is daijinamono.
