PvP 60 cap

Well, I'm a BST. Not sure but doubt we are very strong in PvP. Going to end up fighting PLDs, SAM/RNGs, a BLU/NIN and a DRG or RDM. It's just for fun but I would like to make a decent showing anyway. I just wanted to know what to expect. How fast I'd get killed and all that, lol. I know that the BLU will clean house. He apparently is very good at PvP and actually quit playing BLU because people refused to PvP if he was in it. Anyways, is there anything I can do to better my proformace? Little things I wouldn't think to do right away or things I have to look out for?
Also, in PvP what does charm and tame do?

Hmm I can't confirm this but from what I THINK I know is that you cant charm players or anything surrounding, but you can use pet jugs. I don't know what to expect on your side other than expecting your pet to be slept if theres a mage around. Other than that I have no clue. I remember when i was in 60cap it was a pain in the ass having some BST's pet hugging my ass wherever I went.
