Re: Decision time: Starting nation
Bastok, easy levelling, good money drops in bee chips, not very crowded.

Plus, I'm the galka so I'd get a sweet ring to start there.

Re: Decision time: Starting nation
I like Bastok too. However, last time I was on Asura, Bastok was always in last place so alot of items are denied to us in the shops.

Sandoria, though a bit harder to level, has easier beginning missions. Money sources from bat wings, shrooms, sheep skins.

Windurst is way to spread out for my tastes. Beginning missions are a pain too.

Re: Decision time: Starting nation
Bastok is the most logical choice to me. They have been rising in the standings in recent times so I think that may be less and less of a concern. Also, there are great areas to XP in like Dangruf Wadi and Korrolokka tunnels.

I do have alot of experience with start off in San d'Oria and know every repeatable money making quest there.

Re: Decision time: Starting nation
I would really prefer starting in Windhurst as that is where my character Peavey is already. I havn't had any experience with the quests in this area at the lower levels and want to try those out. Starting in another nation would be possible, but just not preferable to using the char I have already, and who I am kind of partial to, sorry. The average drops in this area are the most valuable on average in the game, every silk thread being worth 1500g. Windhurst is also in 1st place more then any other nation on our server making more items available for less. Also, and this is huge imo, starting in Windhurst gives us better access to the zones of Shakrami Maze and Buburimu Penninsula which are superb leveling spots from 10-20.

Just my thoughts. I am pretty certain that I want to level this char, so if we decide on another nation to "start" at I may be getting some Tele Holla/Dems and stoking up on Pows and Oils in the beginning.

Re: Decision time: Starting nation
Windurst, I have started there most of the times before but it has good money drops, missions aren't THAT bad. Mostly I just like it cause Maze of shakhrami is an amazing leveling place, and I think I saw possible setup as 2 blm's at start which makes this even easier exp. Besides never tried exp in Buburimu peninsula i'm sure it's great.

Re: Decision time: Starting nation
They do sort of have a point about Windurst having better drops gil-wise. As for Windurst being big, it's very simple to complete the mog house expansion if we needed to travel from one part of the city to another. Also, difficulty-wise, I have a feeling this group is going to kick ass anyway on missions so that might not even be a problem. Seeing as how 2 Tarus will be in the group it might be best to start of their so the max amount of people could get the rare/ex rings (although Bastok it would be possible for that as well.)

Windurst, silk thread is 30k a stack on my server the missions arent too hard and it looks the nicest =P. Also i was a taru so it was a wise choice to start in proper town.

Re: Decision time: Starting nation
I voted for Windurst.
Started at least one char in every City..

Bastok has the bet levling spot from 1-6, but then???
Sandoria, um.. huh? Mission? a bit hard for someone new in my opinion. Levling is ok, but there are often Orcs in the whole area that aggro..
Windurst, do, i got silk threat, what is that?? oh, yeah it sells for 204 gil at vendor (/laught) i was nearly level 7-8 then i got it to sell my stack at AH not to vendor and, i was rich for this level :D
mission, found them not so hard.
as THF try to steal saruta cotton from the mandragoras (7K a stack too)
windurst is big, but has got 4 teleport services from one zone to another (water-woods and port-walls)

and again, i vote for windurst
