Thanks to PiNG, we now have our own little space to gather. Hello world. | Originally Posted by Norelco | The other RMT thread reminded me of something I wanted to try out. The idea is this. Below is a rough outline of what I am looking for. There are definitely tweaks to be made and I welcome comments and suggestions.
Leveling
So far my plan only maps this out from 1-37 with subjobs.
Every player will be from the same country to complete rank missions together. When level 30 is reached the course of action will be determined as to which advanced jobs to take for optimal party set up. In the event that a Mithra has to level a Ninja and/or a Ranger from level 1 every other person in the party will pick up an equally beneficial subjob so they continue to level up with one another. edited job setup because that is still tbd - neighbortaru
Cost
All items gained during leveling will be put back into each character. Beastman seals will be pooled for BCNM fights which will go back into each character. I'd like to make this a no additional cost to your real toon. Part of the project is to see how efficiently we can take the items we get and resell them to support our own characters. Depending on how things go, farming sessions may be necessary.
Schedule
This is dependent on the 6 people trying this. I don't want this project to take away from your main toon, but I would like to see a steady amount of progress each week, so I'm hoping for at least a few hours each week, hopefully on the same day when you are not busy with your real toon.
Benefits
1. You will learn to play a new job/jobs, and hopefully, become efficient at it. I plan on setting this up so you will play jobs you haven't yet played before. I know this may not be entirely possible as everyone has played every job. This is something we can discuss.
2. Hopefully we will get to know one another pretty well. Maybe some pretty cool friendships will come out of this.
3. The possible reward of seeing how fast and efficiently we can level. The goal of this project is to see how "correct" job/race combo will help/hinder our progress.
Restrictions
1. Obviously, you can't level this toon with anyone else.
2. Don't take any gil you made on this character and give it to your real toon. | | Originally Posted by Norelco | I want to clarify some of my expectations...
1. I don't want this to become a time consuming thing (unless for some reason it becomes successful/lucrative and people want to do it and are having fun.) There is no timetable in which we have to finish certain goals, but I will be making a goal chart as well as "itinerary" for what we plan on doing in a given session. The bulk of session time will be devoted to leveling, with some time taken out for rank missions and/or farming and/or BCNM. I'm looking for dedicated players who can devote 3-4 hours per week during 1 weeknight or on a Sunday afternoon.
2. I don't want this to become a chore for anyone, or feel that they have to have the best of the best gear. Any gear we will buy will be from funds the group has made together, during XP sessions and any BCNMs we wish to try. If we decide to farm, it has to be done as a group so XP is the same.
3. All funds in the group belong to every person because all funds are going to be spent on the group for food + gear. The group will take a vote on what money goes where. This is an all-for-one and one-for-all type venture. If you're looking to sign up just to get to a certain level to ditch us please don't apply. I'd really like to see how far we can take this. If for some reason we did it to 75 that would be amazing, and I'm sure the group would be really tight-knit.
4. I want participants to have a great understanding of the game before jumping into this, because I plan to make the most out of all our sessions. This means I'm looking for players who do research on their own for the job they are playing, and who research missions/quests.
5. I expect whatever job you are playing you will stick with it. The project will be ruined if you decide at level 22 that your job "sucks" and you want to switch to something else. You have to commit from the beginning. I will not allow anyone to switch jobs like this, even if you offer to "catch up" on your own time. The point of this is to make us level together and all be within 0-100 xp of one another. This is no easy task as some jobs may die during battle, but every week I will ask everyone's TNL and if 1 or 2 people need to catch up I will ask them to tweak their XP, even if that means fighting ep for a few fights to balance it off as much as possible.
This is what I am looking for, however, decisions will be made on a group basis for the good of the group. | Last edited by neighbortaru : 05-06-2006 at 10:58 AM. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 08-16-2005, 11:25 AM | #2 (permalink) | | DevTeam (Group B) Join Date: Feb 2004 Posts: 305 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 1 Time in 1 Post Gil: 1,251 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 1,251 Donate | Re: Welcome to ProjectZero Very nice. I was in a static that spanned from 52 to 70. In those 18 levels our group became efficient and was like clockwork. It has always been a dream of mine to apply that same efficiency into a low level static to see how well we could dominate in these "difficult" levels. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 12-01-2005, 08:56 AM | #9 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Florida Posts: 134 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 1,299 Bank: 763 Total Gil: 2,062 Donate | Re: Welcome to ProjectZero Is this "Project" still active, i will be re-joining Asura in a week or so and i really want to take a break from DRG and lvl RDM/WHM! Only job that's mithra worthy that I haven't played on mithra is rng. So that would be my goal. Double Post Edited:
I could always just pick another race though. :p so I guess that's moot >_> Last edited by nanatsu : 12-02-2005 at 06:18 AM.
