Duoing Methods...how?

I checked the new player section but there isn't any topics about this so...

The last time I played was when my DRK was 41 and I was leveing in Crawler's Nest, so it's been a very long time (this during the original FFXI NA release, I wasn't around when the third expansion was out with Rise of the Zilart being second).

I realize this is going to be a very difficult question to answer due to the sheer amount of content but....what's changed?

I've heard something about easy "soloing" in Fields of Valor, I also know that there is some deleveling thing going on. So if I were to dualbox and make a level 1 white mage, would I be able to delevel my DRK to level 1?

And when I mean "what's changed" I'm referring to the pre 50 stuff, the end game things I can figure out later....I hope.

EDIT: One last question: What is the most active server? I'm currently on Alexander and would like a linkshell simply to chat, hang out....you know, community stuff. I'll transfer servers if I can find a Linkshell that wants to invite and the server pop is nice and inflated.

Level Sync is what you are talking about and lvl 10 is the lowest lvl you can sync to. Check out wiki for the lvl sync and FoV info. It sounds like this would be a great fit for you.

Thanks for the advice. I got scared for a second thinking I could only do one FoV quest per Earth day.....that would suck; badly.

now your going to be like me tho. I spent 3 game days in qifim trying to learn blood saber a level 48 spell until i realised my blu magic skill was gimped to the level of a 36 so I'd never be able to learn it. FOV rocks just watch your skillups.

A lot, including five new (to you) jobs/subjobs, but if you intend to stick with DRK, probably the most significant are level sync (and the accompanying changes to how gear works under level caps) and Fields of Valor. (IDK if /dnc would have any usefulness as a DRK solo sub or whether you could do as well or better with /whm, /rdm, or just drain and aspir.)

There is a level minimum of 10 for level sync. But once the whm got to level 10, yes, you could level sync dualbox.

The most active server is Bahamut, which is why SE disabled character creation/transfers there. After that, IDK. But you should be able to find good community LSs on any server.
