| best duo?
My girlfriend and I have been trying to decide on my main job. She is a 75 RDM and I am taking Ninja up currently. We've heard Ninja and Rdm duo are one of the best duos for the game. We want to be able to take down NMs and the such easily. I just was curious if anyone had a better idea for a duo partner for her RDM or if NIN would be the best choice? I have all classes unlocked i just am not sure which would be best. Ninja seems like a good choice but I wasn't sure if there was something better out there?

There are actually quite a few good duo combinations out there, its just a matter of ensuring one compliments the other. RDM and NIN are a good team, pretty tough to beat, same can be said of pairing RDM with many other jobs, such as BLU or PLD. I've had some fun times duoing my COR with BLUs, RDMs, BLMs, PUPs and BSTs. COR's pet buffs make them rather ideal duo partners for pet-based jobs, not to mention thier Corsair's Roll for a boost to EXP makes duoing even more worthwhile. DNC is a great duo partner as well. Anything/DNC at 30+ is pretty nice for duoing. it actually added a lot of solo endurance to many jobs within the game, so its a good choice for subbing. There are honestly just a lot of good duo options out there, rather than force yourself to play "the best" pick the job that's more in-line with your tastes for your duo. You can make a lot of combinations work. |

I take my RDM/NIN and my Buddy takes his WHM/NIN and we pretty much take care of ourselfs, and make a nasty Light Skill Chain to boot. WHM's lack of a high rating of Evasion is compinsated with Stoneskin, same for RDM. But what Omgwtfbbqkitten says is true to the word. |

I think it really depends on what you are doing. My husband and I duo a lot with him being RDM/NIN or RDM/BLU, and I go as BRD/WHM. We have a lot of fun together. We've also been using DNC a lot as well.

If you're primarily interested in taking down a single difficult NM, NIN/THF + BRD or even THF/NIN + BRD works really well. High native evasion skill + loads of evasion gear + double mambo for even more evasion. You may not kill the NM quickly. But you will eventually.
