So last night I get an invite as RDM Main Heal. Now I really dislike main healing but I was desperate to grab 60 - 17.5k tnl.

By the time I grabbed sanction + refresh, everyone had joined and we all headed out to Wajoam Woodlands. Empty camp, bit of a wierd setup I think as well. RDM (me) BRD BLU BLU PLD NIN - NIN was tank, so PLD was trying to play DD.

Well, it was only Refresh x 3, seeming as PLD didnt need to heal. Haste x 2, as BLUs hasted themselves. So that was great, plus there really wasnt much healing going on. This left me with with full attention to enfeeble and MB. BRD was excellent with Ballad until she got tired, then we noticed that she seemed afk a lot (fell asleep??) - shortly after she disbanded.

Replacement - BLU.

Again, exp was flowing, everyone was happy and having a laugh (no more silent parties).

Then PLD left, which was replaced with another RDM. Whilst he refreshed, I enfeebled and hasted NIN, and we both did whatever afterwards, be it rest or nuke/MB.


The great thing was, I asked the party to humor me by letting me melee for 2 or 3 fights. They hurmored me, and it was fun to say the least. I missed a lot, but bearing in mind I was in full AF with no +Acc, undercapped sword skill and no melee food, I think I did pretty well - when I DID hit, I hit for same damage as the others. Ok, so they slaughtered me on WS's (I couldnt even let one off)...

Anyways, 3 hours later, 18k exp later, and Im 60 with a small buffer XD

So, what was the PLD doing? Was he not using his MP at all? Or just using Flash often enough to keep up with his native auto-refresh? Was he subbing WAR, or NIN?

What mobs were you targeting?

PLD was just swinging his sword, thats it. He did heal VERY rarely (as in 2 or 3 times) but that was about it, I saw Flash a few times as well.

Thing is, sometimes he would steal hate (through FLash if anything) and be hit over and over, whilst I am trying to Cure him, the BRD is asleep, and he isnt Curing himself. So I have to overcure thus stealing hate for a few hits.

It got to the point where I was gonna say, either dont use Flash, or tank and tank it properly. Not a somewhere in-between DD and tank, nightmare for me.

That was my only gripe, even then, I was having such a good time I didnt let it spoil the experience.

Murphie, we were killing Lesser Colibri. I think the next stage is Puks?
