I'm a bit worried but wonder if anybody can give me advice for stating out, soon i will be a noob on Remora and wondered if you can give me any tips for when i start to PARTAY I plan on being a Whm so any Whm help would be a BIG plus

Yay, someone new on Remora! \(^0^)/ Hehe, WHM is basically standing around an assuring your party doesn't do a flat liner! It's more or less a no-brainer but you can't just go slacking off because you think you got the job down, y'know? ^-^ MND is associated with WHM so shouldn't Satori keep that at a high?

WHM is probably THE most stressful job there is. It's rewarding, but it's stressful.

MP management is important while fighting. Don't use any useless spells. Seeing a WHM in a Valk party spamming Banish is just horrible to watch. It wastes a lot of MP. When you need to level your Divine Magic, do it in a skill up party. Bar spells are you friend, KEEP THEM UP. The most useful is Barfira. It will drop the total DMG the party takes from a gob bomb. In Valk, Baraera will drop the total DMG from Cursed Sphere, which the flys use. Enmity (hate) is also something you need to watch out for. Just because you have Cure II or III, doesn't mean you have to use them. In Valk, I used Cure II probably a total of 5 times, from 11 to 19. REGEN IS YOUR BEST FRIEND. Keep regen on the tank at all times. Also, when you get another level of regen, don't stop using the lower level one. Regen III does 20 HP a tick, and is nice, keep that on the tank. Put Regen II on the puller and first voke. Regen saves a LOT of MP. At 21, keep a Tank regened, and just spam Cure 1. It's a lot easier and better for hate IMO. For food, use Ginger Cookies. At 75, I use Marron Glace for parties, but at low levels, 3 hour food is wasteful. I use Ginger Cookies while farming and while doing triggers/gods/dynamis. Also, at level 40, get Haste. Remember to keep it on a NIN tank at all times. Hope that helped.

I found WHM rather easy, well 'cept when I was playing with that one WAR who didn't know how to Provoke... That got a bit out of hand... _._ Every three battles I needed a Raise or needed to HP. -.-;

but yea, if your PT is dieing and runnign away, don't try to cure the fighters. just run yourself to safety. Later you will be the only person who can raise other members. As long as you're alive, the PT can still continues.

This might sound REAL dumb but with reraise does the WHM have to cats that on him/herself in battle before you "Snuff it" or only after you die?

1. when you hit level 22, any you get the spell Regen, use it!

lol, soooo many new white mages ignore the spell, but it recovers like 150 hp for a cost of 15 mp. it rocks. keep it on the tank all the time, and you will *almost* never have to cure!

2. rest during the fight

rest to recover mp whenever you can. you should be resting whenever you aren't casting. Rest when the puller is pulling, rest between casting spells. Even if you will only recover 1 mp, it's still worth it. remember, the amount of exp the party gets is almost entirely dependent on whether or not you have mp

3. eat cookies

ginger cookies, wizard cookies... cookies are the best white mage food in the game. buy them from an npc if you need to, or buy them from the auction house. Cookies cause you to recover mp faster when resting, and remember suggestion number 2? cookies rock

you don't need "more" mp to be a better healer. a lot of new white mages see that your mp pool is kinda small, and instinctively think you need more mp to be better. You don't need more mp; all that does is make it take longer to rest your mp to full between fights. what you DO need is a way to recover your mp faster, and cookies are the best thing at the low levels for that

First Rule Of Benidiction:
Use it. If your party is going to die, don't worry about your own death. Chances are, if your party is going to die, you are going to die too, even if you run. So use Benidicition, especially if the Mob is near death. Don't try and "wait it out" to see if your war can get that last Weapon Skill in before the tank eats it. If someone eats it, and you didn't use benidiction, then you could have saved a life. Sometimes this will happen no matter how hard you try (such as a nin who gets hit with goblin rush and a critical hit back to back between utsusemi). But there are LOTS of times where a well placed benidiction could have saved one or two people. 2hrs are there for a reason. If you never use them, whats the point?

Second Rule of Benidiction:
Don't run. If you use Benidiction, there is a chance the mob will come after you. Especially at earlier levels. But it is really important to know that if you run, the mob can still hit you. Players, however, cannot hit the mob while running. So if you run, you will die. And then there is no one to cure the Party. Most PLD have the attitude that they should die first cause they are tank. So if you use benidiction, they will invincible, provoke, flash, cure, etc., to get hate back. If you give your party a chance to get hate, they will, even at low levels. But not if you run.

I wanna add my agreement to the regen thing. In fact, Regen is so nice (Especially at my level with Regen 3) that you can keep an entire party healed without a proper tank sometimes. In my case, I was keeping people alive well enough that my party's red mage started complaining I was leeching XP by not casting real cures. But that, is another rant altogether.

i cast regen on the tank, then sit down and rest. if someone else gets hit, i usually cast regen on them instead of a cure.

in fact, when i am playing my white mage, i hardly ever cast my cure spells at all. like seven point flaw said, if you use regen properly, you almost never have to cure, and you can almost always have mp, so the party can pull sooner, and everyone gets more exp.

Another point, learn when to and when not to use Benediction and don't be afraid to use it if you need to. Benediction doesn't necessary mean death for the whm. I have saved my party many times and they kept me alive as well after using Bene.
