1.) as a rdm i MAIN HEALED to 34 and for the first time i partied with a whm. (excluding the time i was leveling whm myself)
2.) i never said Tarus make excellent tanks, i said they make excellent plds.
3.) i didn't say no other race/job is good/excellent at tanking.

even though I still don't have astrals, (and i doubt Sariel used physical earrings/rings) we managed just fine and no one else got hit, excluding the ocassional Gob Bomb. (This was in Yhoter Jungle)

Tarus get and keep hate because they have to cure themselves constantly. as a rdm, who is main healer, if I only have to cure 1 person, and no matter much I have to cure them, I don't get hate. I consider the person a good tank. and yes, no one died.

what's your definition of a good/excellent tank?

EDIT: and not burn all my MPs keeping them alive.

basically its the player that counts not stats or race or gear (well a lil gear) that makes u a great [insert job here] me my gear blew from 50s to 65 and i still managed as a 65 sam to do my part well
now the topic about poisona as a DD if i complain about posion i'll feel stupid cuz sam doesnt need it sleep well all i have to say is wake the healer and tank first (elvaans have a high mnd so status like this dont affect me) then DDs once tank gets the hate back and pt starts over

the tank shouldnt need a cure after a mass sleep

A good Tank Keeps hate, Takes the damage, and either Snuffs it off (Ut) or Heals themself of it (Cures). Tarutaru can keep hate and heal themself but can't take the damage.

As a Mithra I was able to take (or just plain out evade/shield/parry CONSTANTLY) the damage, As well as heal myself. And I Rarely lost hate. If I did it was from extreme circumstances. (Over nuking BLM, THF misplacing a SATA) Sometimes when I NEEDED to lose hate, I couldn't.

The last two tarutaru PLD's I had in parties (with me as whm) Either couldn't keep hate, or were in the red in two hits and begging DRK's to voke off them. A PLD should not need a back up voker. Not a good one anyway.

You partied with some really shitty Taru PLDs then..>_>; Hume/Mithra/Taru PLDs over all except certain HNMs man...

I disagree. As a whm at mandies, I would pop a regen and if for some reason (mob moving, going to pt to cast a bar spell, etc.) I am too close when the mandy does sleep, it won't affect me. Then I can easily wake up anyone who needs it.

ehh... this is what makes Taru's such good PLD's... they can cure the damage they take no problem... so you kind of contradicted yourself. Sure they take more damage, but they can also cure alot more than other PLD's.

Um..around 25 WHM get Auto-Regen so if its Mandie Poison it wont even budge their HP(and i am just talking mandie poison because thats what the OP said), and they can get into sleep range np...as long as they heal themselves afterwards so they can rest.

Its a non-issue once you get refresh anyway.

humes are too good for juices, once again, I shouldnt have to spend money on mp juices when i can get other party members and even get myself to just too a better job for free

Maybe so, however i feel every PLD should get juices before refresh, it just makes them that much better despite race.

as a rdm, post Stoneskin/Convert the only time I ask for a poisona is if i dont have enough mps for Stoneskin. After Converting, Stoneskin can keep me from being 1 Shot, where as Poisona wouldn't.

in most parties, I don't even need to stoneskin however.

in yhoter/yuhtunga a rdm can put Regen on themself and the only time they need Poisona is upon conclusion of battle to regen mps, if poison is even still active.
