Still think DarkAges is far worse then WINGxx has been. His question seems valid to me for him being among the newer players. Yes he probably could of avoided this abuse if he searched for what info he could get with WAR and being in tanking conditions, in either case I don't see a reason to be putting so much abuse on the guy. He has not struck out like DarkAges and seems to be asking for knowledgable players advice, so please be more respectful in response back.

In essance it makes it harder to tell who the real troll is. His spelling is bad but nothing in relation to what DarkAges has done. Still doesn't have as many posts as DarkAges but at least his focus seems more with a learning intent so far. He even seems to demonstrate that he will use the search function, so give the guy a little break.

I do recommend for WINGxx to exercise proper spelling and grammar however also to get more respect out of the forum members.

when you get even higher level, and the mobs hit harder then you get hps it makes even more of a difference.

this happened in the crawlers nest and we were fighting hawkers or whatever the flies are called there:

our tank was a pld meaning he had a tad but higher vit and def than a war would have and he died every fight. and with me, the whm and the blm having to Cure like crazy and use up all of our mps curing him and then he dies and then the whm almost dies. after we finally manage to kill it, the pld has to wait for the whm to heal mps to raise and then we have a 5 min "Weakend" down time and after that we have to rebuff and heal again and then we're ready to go. the third time he used Berserk somone noticed it and (he was being wailed on very hard again) demanded he take off that "buff" and not use it anymore. after that we were able to xp chain 3-4 easilly.

when i pl, i usually don't demand they not use berserk because I get hate easier but if they voke off me, i give them the choice. "you berserk and not voke, i'll cure you, you berserk and voke you die." I can only cast so many Cure IVs >.>

Lern too uze gud engrish!!! But in all seriousness, when I was a noob WAR, I kept my MNK subjob at 5 simply for boost. Plus I hate to lvl MNK. Since then i have gotten my THF to 20 and use it for a SJ or Maybe even DRG if im gunna be primarily DPS, i always ask. but i would NEVER use berzerk as a tank. I will even remove it from myself if I am SATA partner. It is just courtesy t the mages, and the rest of the party. If you are really set in your ways, you might want to try World of Warcraft. it really caters to your uh... playstyle. DPS can be tanks sometimes and vica versa.

You would never use berserk as a tank? If I set up a PT and have a NIN/WAR tank who doesn't use berserk I'd probably consider replacing him. Berserk is a good tool for gaining hate, not just increasing damage output. And NIN tanks need all the hate they can get ^^. Of course you could have just been making that blanket statement about WAR tanks. However, as a WAR/NIN tank I would probably consider usuing berserk as well.

ninjas tank by not getting hit. they have problems holding hate though, so the increase in damage they take is worth the extra downtime if they get hit...

warrior/monks should NOT use berserk when taking hits. you might as well just let the white mage tank the mob herself.
