BCNM30 Strat
I just got mashed like potatoes in there.

We went in with Blm/Whm, War/Mnk, and War/Thf. I realize now the War/THf option was a major err on my part. I was the War/Mnk, but I suggested the thief sub for sneak. We didn't even get to pull off a sneak.

I told the Blm/Whm to sleep the green beetle, but it resisted it. By then the two warriors had already engaged the black beetle. I had the hate of the black beetle and the green beetle went after the mage so I tried to voke it off so he could sleep it again. THe green beetle got the mage's health to about half at that time. The black beetle castsed Stonega II and finished him off. Then the green beetle cast Stonega II and finished me off, then they used regular attacks to kill the War/Thf.

Amazingly pathetic. I know they can sleep since the best finish time was four minutes out of fifteen. I may know how to do it better... (If using War/War/Blm combination party)

When you see the beetles, have both warriors sub monk if they can and use dodge. Warrior 1 uses fish mithkabob and equips a shield only unless the weapon has +vit or +def. Have him voke the beetle you plan on putting the sleep, while the other warrior vokes the other one and pulls him to the other side of the arena. This way stonega wont mess everybody up. Have the whm keep casting sleep on Warrior 1's beetle until it sticks. Then go after the other beetle.

This is all assuming Stonega II doesn't automatically hit all members and has a set area.

Anybody know anything better?

Edit: I also still have my Sky orb...

The second time we tried it with me, the Warrior/Mnk, a Paladin/Warrior, and a Rdm/???.

We tried my plan above but the green beetle resisted sleep every single time. I tanked the black beetle on my own and got it killed with my two hour, but the green one killed the paladin then the redmage.

I know you can sleep them or else the record time wouldn't be 4 minutes.

Were you able to use the sky orb again after failure? I had read that you got the orb back after failing BCNMs, but it didn't let you re-enter...hopefully that is not that case.

When you use it there becomes a crack in it and you can no longer use it.

My party got smashed at the one in Ghelsba. First it was me, RDM/SMN (for more mana, although I think I should go BLM next time), a PAL/WAR and a WAR/THF. We thought the problem might've been not enough healing, so when we went in again it was the PAL/WAR, a WHM/BLM, and DRK/THF (or WAR I forget). But we still got killed. However the second party was able to almost kill one of the lizzies, but by then 2 of the pt members had been killed, and the DRK died before he could kill one of the lizzies.

So anyone have any suggestions on what jobs to bring?

I know you have to sleep one.

Having ninja subs will really help. Barstone, Utsusemi, and anything that will raise your attack would be great for the tanks. THe only thing left would have to be a whm or something able to keep up the heals when Utsusemi wares off and needs to be recasted.

maybe try Rdm/Blm as healer.. just pull out Elemental Seal + Sleep.

I think War/Mnk is better than War/Nin though.. unless the War1 (tanking the slept beetle) is /Mnk and the attacking one is /Nin.

or...

War/mnk Drk/Nin or Blm Whm/Smn or Smn/Whm (dont think you'll be spamming cure III's so Smn/Whm may be good.

Drk/Blm can also use Elemental Seal + Sleep and also be Damage dealer. Or /nin sub so Drk has less chance of dying from tanking ther other monster. but just has to keep casting sleep.

Full Cursed= O
Full Str Gear= O
Apocalypse= ; ;

DRK - /war /thf /nin /sam /whm
1-year break.. everything so cheap O_O

you could also always bring a brd for the sleep. They have a better chance of landing the spell, from what i understand.

as soon as i get my brd up to 30 i'll have to give this a try.

G1 I hate you more and more every day....
