Now today really topped it off for me. I led three PTs, all of which fell apart due to a lack of manners and patience.
Some things you should know about me before I begin this semi-rant/semi-hopeful speech thread. I am not the type of leader to sit around doing nothing only checking every five minutes for other possible PT members to show up on my search. I basically scan for them like I would when hunting LL or VE. And even there, I go around most every ls I have to see if anyone is able and willing to PT. I also do an occasional shout or two if I really have to. To sum myself up, I work damn hard to try and create the best all-around PT possible.
That being said, I've noticed (especially today) that a lot of people go into these said PTs expecting the organization to take very little time. For example, the first PT I organized today was a near perfect setup: pld, thf, drk, rdm, brd... We were missing a whm. I told them, "Ok, just waiting on a whm and we'll be going in no time." Not too long after, people just begin dropping, not even saying a single word. The second PT I formed was a full PT! Just as I spend money to get out to Crawler's Nest, people decide to leave because Im coming all the way from Jeuno!! What is wrong with this picture, people?? And the third was just plain messed up... I tried to lead these same types of people and to no avail, they turn out to be the same impatient assholes as the ones before.
What has become of this game? So many lazy people around now days make true parties impossible to come by unless: A) you're really lucky and a good PT is found in all flagged members B) you have JP IME and only PT at night or C) you have found your niche with people and have made a set PT.
Granted, I have multiple sets.. I don't only want to level those jobs... The only cure for this sort of thing is manners and patience really... I mean, if you're going to leave a PT, at least say "Sorry, gotta go, thanks for the invite though." Or something. I don't think a lot of these people know the amount of work that goes behind leading parties, and it's really starting to tick me off.
I don't intend to start any flame wars... And, besides, there would be no flame wars started.... (unless you've never led a party before, in which case, you're a dumbass and can't even begin to conceptualize what I'm talking about).
Anyways, /end.bitch session. I hope people start growing up and realize that, unless you wanna be in a shit PT, they need to be able to wait for a while....
Otherwise.......... go join your drk/whm, drk/rng, bst/blm, bst/nin, war/brd, whm/nin PT..... But I am that kind of person who will go to Jeuno or make a party when the time is right. I have JP IME and wait till night time to start a PT, and will also get any PT ready in about 10-15 minutes (lowest perfect PT is about 3 minutes ^_^). The ONLY time I will make a PT is late at night, that way JP players are on and most EN are off . Personally, I think most successfull PT's are coming from JP players.
I've had many PT's also where players just left. Most of those whom were English. I later asked why, and if PLD they said, "I dont want to fight those". I will only get certain jobs, as well as players. This being like (<--Thf) Blm, whm, rdm, pld or ninja, and samurai. If the only Samurai is EN then i'll invite another job that will probably be JP. I have also had one PT as a Samurai where everyone just flat out left without saying a word, this was a JP PT -_- (with Blackice  ) | Quote: | | What has become of this game? So many lazy people around now days make true parties impossible to come by unless | Even with JP IME your PT could turn bad. Even if you knew Japanese your party could be bad. It all just depends on the players that are in your party, that's all. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 03-08-2004, 11:27 PM | #3 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Nov 2003 Posts: 86 Style: Dark - Version 5 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 356 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 356 Donate | i had a great pt last week or so.
started with my friend (whm) and got a ninja (na? or maybe euro) who was scrounging change for a stack of shihei. jp blm (subbing ninja...?) coming from windurst, na (i think) bard who was in jeuno... couldn't find another melee so the bard found a jp taru warrior lfg.
went to quicksands, first pull whm died, taru warrior died as well. bard called whm the worst ever, bard went outside to lfg, warrior respawned and bailed without a word, blm went back to jeuno to switch sub.
found a samurai and another bard, rest of the pt came back to quicksands, chain, chain, chain, chain for about 6k-7k xp until the samurai hit 49 at which point he was determined to use his 2h before he left which was perfect considering on that pull the ant silenced our ninja for the first time. meditate, enpi, enpi; enpi, kagero, enpi (i think)... then we went back to jeuno to regroup and ended up doing the bomb part of genkai. not to mention our 2nd bard zoned out of quicksands with 1, yes 1hp on an ant link he forgot he couldn't sleep.
just an example on how a pt that just seems utterly screwed from the get go can turn out well. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 03-09-2004, 12:02 AM | #4 (permalink) | | Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Posts: 613 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 965 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 965 Donate | | Quote: | | I will just quote all -_-...Anywho, if you dont know me..I make every single party for every level i've leveled just about + a couple more that failed. |

If you are new and you just got your first linkshell from someone, talk to them and be friend with everyone. This way you can ask someone in your linkshell to party and you'll will have a good time. -------------------------------

Usually I party with 3 main people.
A level 24 Warrior/Thief
A level 23 RDM/WHM
A level 23 WHM/BLM
and I am a level 24 Warrior/Monk. We are all in the same LS.
We try to get the well even amount of people in our group. Heavy hitters and so forth. Since I am tank, I get the aggro most of the time.. the warrior/thief gets second chair to tank.
The other night.. We thought we had a good team. A level 23 thief/warrior and a level 22 BLM/warrior. Okay.. we were a bit confused with the warrior subjob... but hey. Give the guy a chance.
Not only did the BLM not know how to magic burst... which he told us he did. It is a requirement in our group, as well as knowing how to skillchain. He wanted to melee. We had 3 heavy hitters... we needed a nuker. He refused to nuke. He was standing there, full mp while we *the heavy hitters* tried to keep the mob off the RDM/WHM and the WHM/BLM.
When we calmly and politely tried to tell him that he needed to nuke and magic burst. He went off on us and screamed that we were mean. Which then, he left the party.
We havent had many successful parties. We have actually aquired a BLM/RDM from our linkshell. So we will be PT just within our LS. You dont have to tell us twice about how there are alot of idiots out there. Goddess and all around nice gal. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 03-10-2004, 11:03 PM | #9 (permalink) | | Member Join Date: Dec 2002 Location: Hawaii Posts: 594 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 2,332 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 2,332 Donate | Im an importer, maybe it's just me... but I've never had a bad JP PT.... And the Japanese people have never left a PT before even doing anything, they have enough patience to wait for an awesome setup, and they know what they're doing. (Not saying all NA people suck and don't know shit, just saying the JP people I've PT'd with all knew what they were doing.) Something that I noticed is JP wait around for a long time, I rather not be rude, I just shut up and wait by zone. But the last time was taking like half an hour, so I got fed up and checked the party list and saw we were missing a WHM. I did /sea whm <insert-levelrange> and I found a JP WHM, I suggested it to the party and they invited him... I'm not sure if the WHM just logged on, but maybe JP like taking their time? | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 03-13-2004, 07:38 AM | #13 (permalink) | | Member Join Date: Feb 2003 Posts: 854 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 838 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 838 Donate | Dont be such a bitch about inviting NA players, especially if they are key to the PT. I was trying to level THF the other day and I was in a full JP PT. There was a EN BRD seeking, I told them, I couldnt read what they said, but they said O?l. Then we invited a WAR. I could have gone to Yhaotor and gotten a few levels in the 3 hours that we got 1k exp. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 03-13-2004, 05:03 PM | #14 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Jan 2003 Posts: 69 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 726 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 726 Donate | Actually, I usually rather NA players, since I can talk to them. But the WHM just magically turned out to be a JP, plus he was the only whm in our level range. One thing I do like about JPs, is that I don't see too many being annoying in shouts and such. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 03-13-2004, 10:37 PM | #15 (permalink) | | Senior Veteran Oracle of Knowledge Join Date: Jan 2003 Posts: 2,984 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 22 Thanked 1 Time in 1 Post Gil: 1,498 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 1,498 Donate | | Quote: | Originally posted by Vivid Im an importer, maybe it's just me... but I've never had a bad JP PT....
