Party members: Know what a PLD is there for!

I am amazed at how many people I've partied with who don't know what a Paladin does. A Paladin is not just another Warrior that can take extra hits. We are a specialized class that has tools needed to maintain hate and keep it off of everyone else.

When you are partying with a Paladin, please keep in mind:

- Above all else, please do not try to Provoke off of us unless we are in trouble. A lot of WARs and WAR subs tend to Provoke at very random times and/or when they "feel like it." This is very frustrating to a Paladin who is trying to keep all the hate.

- Healers, please don't get upset with me because I am healing myself. I need you like I need my eyes and hands. Healing is just one of the tools I use to maintain hate. Also, I'm there to protect you -- please don't half-ass your job and use Cure I when I have 52 HP left and you have 138 MP.

- Ninja, please don't get pissed at me because you are trying to use Utsusemi and can't Provoke off of me or I keep Provoking off you. I'm only doing my job.

Look, Paladins are there to keep everyone alive. I can't count how many times I've sacrificed myself and died to keep someone else alive. Please return the favor by recognizing our role and letting us do our jobs. Thanks.

When you get higher lvl you will find that even if they provoke its still on you. A Pld is the hate keeper and he keeps it well (if they know what to do).

Provoke, Shield Bash, Sentinel, Flash, and Cures and also WS now and then, all keep Pld's the Tank.

That is only offset by the Whm that is curing the Pld, or a dmg dealer (physical or magic) that keeps hitting high amounts of damage.


Another thing, it's always good to have you're Pld preferably the highest lvl in you're PT. They can keep hate better that way.

That reminds me. There are some mages who overheal so I have nothing to heal, and no heals = less hate. I even lost hate that way. x.x So if your pld isn't at sparkly shining full health 24/7 don't worry, it's good for him :p
