Newbie looking for LS
Hey guys, just started this game (again) and previously I have never really played that much as always something came up as I started.

Right now I have a lvl 10 elvaan warr with an inferno axe that I got off the AH for a decent price I guess. What I am really looking for is a helpful LS that can give me tips and hints so I don't have to log out of the game every 30 min or so to look up something on the forums, to just give advice, and maybe help me with some of that tasks that lay in my future. I promise I am not a gil begger!

Guide to getting an ls:

1) Play the game.
2) Talk to people.
3) Be nice.
4) Make friends.
5) Ask friends about their social ls's and if they might be taking any new players.

If you use this guide, you will find an ls that you'll already have a friend in so you'll be more comfortable. Also if you've known the person for a while and enjoy their personality, then its more likely that more people in this ls will have similar personalities so you'll make more friends. I find that people running around begging for an ls are usually people that just want others to help them, basically leeches. People that take the time to find an ls with friends or people of similar attitudes tend to be a more balanced person and not only appreciate help but give help in return.

Like TGM said, just playing the game will likely be the best and easiest way to find a LS. Just be friendly, have fun, and you'll be /befriending people in no time.

Well I got into a LS last night, which is a good thing for me because I am still kind of clueless about getting into party's and the such. I tried befriending people, but at such a low level it was kind of hard. I figured most people probably viewed me as a potential leech, now it is time to prove that I am not.

*sigh* I too need an LS but /befriending people is harder than it seems. I did not believe FFXI's pop died out this much since my 1 yr absence....
