Personally, I don't think lowering Raise's level will open the door for any new spells. It seems to me that it's simply an aesthetic change. Chances are, we won't even be using raise at 50 in exp parties. WHM gets it at 25, RDM gets it at 37 or so, BLM/WHM and SMN/WHM both get it at 50. I mean most, if not all, of the time that you'll be using Raise is just to help in Valkurm, where it's not necessary to use a WAR sub, allowing you to sub WHM for it. The lowering of the requirement doesn't really do anything; it just makes a lot more sense.

Phalanx sounds like a good spell to have , plus What I really want is more -% Physical damage taken equips, it sucks to not be able to tank some HNMs like amikiri for example ><;.

I'm with you guys. It's like I said on another thread somewhere.
DRK, the embodiment of evil, get a slew of spells all to their own to enhance themselves.

PLD, the holy knight, protector of all and upholder of good. Altana was kind enough to bless is with above par Vitality and hitpoints, and the ability to wear big thick armor that I can pick up at the AH.

I smell a gyp. There should REALLY be something to set PLD apart from the rest other than VIT and DEF.

Spell for 75? You know. I could totally dig on....no not flash II, not some flashy spell that is technically useless. I could totally dig on a PLD only Defense spell. Heck, if all we've got is defense why not give us something to pump it more?

We're obviously not going out to HURT anything. I still can't hit lowest level orcs in Ghelsba for over 100 damage routinely.

Am I the only one besides Loial who thinks Pld should have shell4 at lvl 75?

They get Protect4 at 7 levels behind rdm and whm, I would think having Shell4 at 7 levels behind rdm and whm would be a realistic thought.

Good luck on wishing for light-spikes, and en-light though.

I think Silkiv's idea would be plausible. Nothing groundbreaking...just a humble Shell IV to go with Protect IV and to complete the pattern. En-Light? Shine Spikes? Well, then they'd have to give DRKs the opposite element spells. They do high enough damage as it is...do you honestly wanna give them En-Dark to boot? =P It's just a bit too outlandish in my opinion.

Light Spikes would be quite cool but it is (Steal) > RDM and I'm sure Red Mages would feel cheated.
We need an entirely new spell PLD only.

I mean DRKs have so many spells, I'm talking 30 or so spells at their disposal, whereas PLDs only have 6 different spells.
Think about it:

-Banish
-Holy
-Cure
-Shell
-Protect
-Raise

What am I missing?

It's an outrage to be honest.
But then again I find it hard to think of any unique spell. '~'

Enlighten (hehehe) and Light Spikes would be whm or pld spells. For the same reason only drks get to use all those dark magic spells and share some with blm, pld should get some pld only divine spells and share some spells with whm. How many rdms use spike spells and en-spells so regularly that they would be upset if one other job would get ONE element from the series thats affiliated with the jobs personality as a "holy knight".

Those spikes an en spells are mostly just annoying spells that mobs use to piss off the mages who have to dispel/remove status effects and never really do anything but look neato.

Holy II.

And it should actually be worth buying and using at level 75 for a Paladin.
