Can I just skip it and get something else that's cheaper? I'm not quite sure I'm all that fond of +7 Vit costing 1,2 Mil <.<; Heck, I wasn't even fond of my level 40 axe costing 70k x.x
Once I get Paladin to level 40, I plan on completely ditching warrior. After all, with paladin I get to use something I love, and always picture whenever I think of Knights-- Swords and Shields.
I didn't dare use one as a warrior, so I off-handed the sword, and no one complained .
Anywho, once again, Good guide, great information, and hopefully some paladin in the level 57-66 Range can help out with the Gluttony thing, seeing as I highly doubt I'll ever be able to get the drop from the Skeleton NMs I believe it is( Heard so from some friends on my old server ).
Doesn't help much that my wife when she did PLD had a Gluttony :p She loved that darn thing. | That depends on you. If you can afford a Gluttony, by all means, go for it. If you can't, then I say don't. I thought that it was a standard since it's the most VIT you can get off back then (and stilll is for that level), and it was easier for me to hold hate with Sword and Shield combo (cause of Shield Bash), BUT, I would say, I know a couple of friends that level'd with Staff (Weeee of Kujata did that I think), but I dunno. Staff IMO doesn't really start getting good til you get Spirit Taker anyway, but -25% physical dmg is good too. So I dunno, up to you. That would be one that you may wanan look at.

P.S. And yes, it drops off Skull of Gluttony which appears randomly when one of the candle's are lit by a flint stone.

For armour, don't go for the centurion's at 30, but go for the Eisen or Kampf set.
If you're a race with low vit (I'm a Taru!) you need the full Kampf set. It will set you back a bit but a lot of it will last you til AF! Oyoyu

He kindly replied to some PMs I had too
Aside from the gear information, the guide still holds its own nicely. SE did claim that CHR does not affect provoke (in contradiction to what the guide says), but they did not state whether CHR helps "maintain" hate longer. While that is a difficult theory to prove, it still seems to hold water to this day.
In general, most exping PLDs probably want to put enmity+ on whatever slots they can and put some DD gear on other slots. I don't think VIT rings are worth it. Using accuracy+ or attack+ gear to bump up your damage is usually worthwhile.
With enough DD gear and a smart PT, a PLD can get away with going purely DD (Haubergeon or SH, str/accuracy/attack gear). It depends on what the PT needs.
Gear for HNMs is probably something that is not covered in his guide, but back when he wrote it, no one was doing the HNM scene. I don't know if that is something people want to see though. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | All times are GMT -8.
