My takeaway: Maisie Williams is fucking adorable. I mean Arya Stark is a lovely young lady, but the way she always looks stressed the fuck out rather prevents you from noticing how d'aww-inducingly cute her actress is. That girl is going to be smoking hot in 10 years or so.

Finally finished the week long first year graduate student/associate instructor orientation. It was a long, dull week...
Good news is that I am teaching discussion for Intro Chemistry/Biochemistry. I'm pretty excited about that, though more excited that I'm not teaching lab.

For all the hoopla that Accutane gets, I'm not bothered by it. Other than my lips needing moisturizer and some peeling of skin in a few places, I'm loving my results so far. 1 month in and most of the acne has cleared from my face. My chest and back no longer look like I am a juice head. Best part is, I heal faster. What zits I have been getting are clearing up quickly and then the skin heals fast. Blood work results haven't budged in a month, though that might get worse as time goes on. So far, I wonder why I didn't do this when I was an undergrad.

I took Accutane when I was growing up. Didn't do shit. Years after they stopped it I started using Simple products twice a day and no more acne. Funfun.

I followed up on Monday, and got an e-mail response back that I would be contacted for an interview. I wasn't. I know that others have been interviewed for the job. I'm not an idiot, so I know what that means.

I am very frustrated now, though. I've proven time and time again how valuable I am to this agency and how willing I have been to drop everything with little to no notice and come in to save their asses, and I've not even been considered? After all of the bullshit spewed by the person I know is doing the hiring about how "everyone has a chance to advance, just grab those opportunities" ... yeah. Right. It isn't like I expected the job handed to me on a silver platter, I am certainly not that naive, however, a shot would have been nice, because I know damn well that I am qualified.

I will be leaving, at the first opportunity. I've already put in applications elsewhere, and when I get taken on by another company, I will be more than happy to write my resignation letter. I feel like I've been taken advantage of and taken for granted. My only concern now is making it until I take my vacation. I thought I was valued, but I'm just a chump apparently. And the true final straw? One of the people who I supervise called me lazy. I work seven days a week, work from home sometimes, do more than my fair share just to make Boss Lady look good and I'm lazy? Wow, that's all I have been able to say since it happened yesterday. Wow.


It's just frustrating. I have given my all and for what? Not being allowed the same opportunities as others, and no respect from my peers. Stay classy, work. Perhaps I should have seen that it was just a goddamn pipe dream, but I bought into the bullshit, now I just feel like I've been hosed. Fuck. Trying not to be negative here. I am just frustrated. I will get out and make my life better than it ever could have been at this place.



In other news, heading to Mexico again in September, and god, I can't wait. I miss my boys and I just need to get away from here.

What do you say to someone, who has given up on life and is on death's door, on the occasion of their 90th birthday? "How are you" is useless as an opener. I know the answer to that question better than I'd like and it's not something anyone wants to talk about—those of us who can still speak. "Happy birthday" is almost sardonic. Maybe she'd take it as a token expression, but I couldn't think about the words and make them come out with sincerity. I talked at her about her great-grandchildren and told them how they were doing and what they're into now. I think she was paying attention, that she understood and remembered me and the people I was naming, but it's hard to be certain. My dad pulled out a rosary. To my surprise he stumbled over the Apostle's Creed, and even though the prayer was his idea, he said his Hail Marys with the kind of rising inflection that made it sound like he wanted each one to end quickly. Everyone tried in their own way to give the room some words like they were flowers or balloons, to give strength or cheer or peace. None of them worked. None of them mattered. None of them except "I love you" and "good bye"

I got bored yesterday while I was at work and decided to give myself a little project. I decided to build an alternate forum to compliment this one in the event that TM or one of us breaks the forum and nobody can get on it.

If such a thing were to happen... people could meet up on the alternate (Bizzaro) forum to continue to be actively engaged and know what's going on.

I had something like that once when I was a kid. I dreamt that I woke up from a dream and went to the bathroom. Woke up to find I had wet the bed. Fucking Inception.

I had that happen to me multiple times. It lead to a couple years in elementary of me scrutinizing real urinals to make sure.

Also the having a dream you're getting up and getting ready for school only to have to alarm go off and have to do it all again. Constantly through high school.
