I used to love the Super Mario Bros Show. Mickey Mouse died recently too. I'm pretty sad. Wayne Allwine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia KH 358/2 Days was his last work.

Could have sworn Capt. Lou was also known for professional wresting and appearing in Cindi Lauper videos. I think being Super Mario was just what he was best known as to gamers.

The Super Mario Bros Super Show was pretty much the only legit US Saturday morning cartoon based on a video game back in its day. Well that and the short-lived Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon (the one the Archie comics were based on.) It also had plenty of celebrity guest stars according to Wikipedia, but I was way too young to know if anyone was famous.

 And yes, the show had a lot of famous people like Magic Johnson and Roddy Piper on the show, as well as various music hits from the time; Danger Zone, Secret Agent Man, Rocking Robin, & Rolling on the River to name a few. I don't remember all of them, and I sure as hell can't recall any Michael Jackson songs being played. It was corny and badly written but it's still nostalgic gold to a 90's kid like me. That Sonic cartoon was great too, since as you pointed out, it was based on the Comics which IIRC are still going today. I collected them up until about... 3, 4 years ago when the price kept going up and the local carriers stopped ordering them. WOOOOT Found it! my favorite one ^ _ ^ | ||
