I was bored so I figured I'd make a topic on this lol.

Pretty much everybody has a Signature, Avatar, or a combination of both, but unless everybody looking at it is caught up on all media (movies, comics, anime, etc.) all of the time, nobody will know where they came from. This probably won't apply to all though because alot of people made their own sigs/avatars but that's cool to know about too.

For example

Avatar: Lelouch Vi Britannia aka Lelouch Lamperouge from the anime Code Geass. The Avatar is a cropped version of this picture:

The picture was originally made in tribute to upload to ytmnd.com as part of a old fad. (YTMND - Hitler Seizes Control Old Fad) (Also worth mentioning YTMND - Princess Peach Seizes Control YTMND - Hubbard Seizes Control YTMND - The King Seizes Control) Yes that is FFVIIAC's Sephiroth Theme.

My new sig was influenced by G Gundam's Domon Kasshu and the Shuffle Alliance. It also has the new Final Fantasy 14 logo on the left. The brush samples in the middle were a bunch of epic tribal and tech brushes I found.

My avatar comes from the Kodomo no Jikan ED. I watched the series last summer, and have been wanting to use that pencil box as an avatar ever since. You see, I'm sometimes nicknamed "Tama" and other similar things in-game, for fairly obvious reasons (Tarutaru). I had to wait until I could disclose my character name "Tamarsamar," though, first, but that's another story I'd rather not bring up. >.>

BTW, Malacite posting a cheap fan-made Smash Bros. knock-off in the Anime thread is pretty much why I had told him to stop posting, as the OP may already know. It was kind of obligatory, considering the original was where my avatar was from.

Also, I watched the series after seeing Feba post this same video in the same Anime thread, like I said, more than a year ago. He was right - great series, and deeper than it looks.



As for my signature, I took the screenshot myself and photoshopped my reaction. Of course I went a bit overboard in the original, so I used this cropped version, which really summarized the whole thing quite well. It was some random JP RDM I saw idling in Upper Jeuno. And, as it says in the sig, is pretty much the best single Augmented Earring a Red Mage could ever hope for (it was received from an ACP key, so ya know).

My sig was made by a guy who used to be on these forums a few years ago. Its my drg in relic and I wanted something kind of silly. My avatar is Cid. I always liked him in 7 and he was relatively a drg.

The avatar is my kids, the day my ex-husband took them. It is them sleeping on the plane, and he sent me a text message with that picture. I cried. It's one of my favorite pictures of my kids to date.

Signature is photoshopped, I found a really nice beach background while browsing the interwebs, and I thought it would make a lovely sig. I played around in Altana viewer and got the right poses, did some fixing of CK's arm to wrap it around me. I'm very pleased with it, that's why I left it here but changed my sig other places. It just seems so serene there, like we had our own piece of heaven and we were enjoying it together.

That's the non-cropped version of my avatar. It was done by Ian J, whom I first learned of back when he was doing his mediocre webcomic, "RPG World." Of course, at the time I was too young and naive to realize it was a fairly bad comic, and I suspect he probably did too, but he got better at this drawing and comic strip-making business. So despite the fact that there was no saving the amalgamation of clichés his comic was, it wasn't a total waste. Now he's working on his own web cartoon, nockFORCE (named after its protaggonists, effnocka and FUCKFORCE) and I believe also works directing The Venture Bros (well, art direction, not general direction. Still.) That's pretty cool.

Question Armando: Why is the original gif not jumpy and glitchy like the one you're using for the avatar?

My avatar is my MSN DP, just shuffling my hat around for no apparent reason, I'm random I know.

I don't know. The forum did that when I chose to use it as my avatar, regardless of whether I uploaded the file or linked it off photobucket.
