Haha, the thread took a different direction than I intended, but it's cool. Guess everyone saw through my attempt to fish for happy birthday wishes! Lolz. It's kinda hard to believe it's been five years though. Even harder to believe how much I've missed.

Five years ago, my wife (then GF) was starting her masters, and I was looking for work after my university (among others) got cut from a DARPA program that would have funded my Ph.D program (never went back). I had bought FFXI used from some guy at my wife's school who apparently wasn't into the MMO thing. It crashed all the time on my PC (especially in Valkurm when people cast spells). Now I'm writing/prosecuting patents in Asia, and my wife and I just had our first kid earlier this year. I reactivated my content ID this month, and now play in the mornings before work while the wife and kid are still asleep.
