Re: Michael Jackson dead at Age 50

I almost lost it on one of my buddies when he said in LS chat (and meant it) that Jackson "got what he deserved" ...

Lay off the guy. He never had a childhood. His father was (and still is if anyone saw that god awful, disrespectful piece of shit interview he did for CNN's Don Lemon at the BET awards tonight) a brutish, uncaring assfuck. If he really loved his son, he would not have whipped him and beat him and forced him to record for hours on end instead of letting him play with the other children. If he really loved him, he would have actually shown some emotion and regret at the loss of his own flesh and blood instead of promoting his new recording studio.

Why do the most talented people always have to become so fucked up and/or die tragically? Michael went out pretty much the same way Elvis did; a shadow of his former self, plus all the horrible controversy behind him.

Who knows, maybe he would have been OK if that damn Pepsi fire had never happened. That was the start of his pain killer abuse, and it's not like he never had good council either. I forget the guy's name atm but he had that very well respected Rabbi as his spiritual guide, friends who really cared about him, and a hell of a lot of money he could have used to get help.

Maybe there was no helping him though. Some people just get too screwed up over the course of their lives and I think Michael was one of those people. May he rest in piece, and his legend and many successes carry on forever.

Re: Michael Jackson dead at Age 50

Yes, he had quite the f**ked up childhood. One of the things that really irritated me was a CNN article about the initial statement released by his family. They stated in the article that the parents were at Michaels home already and that 2 moving vans were at the house and one left full of items from the house. Now it didn't say that the parents were the ones that rented the vans but it would make sense. If they are at the house the only people that they'll let take stuff from the house would be themselves or the police. I don't think the police rent moving vans to remove objects.

Re: Michael Jackson dead at Age 50

As long as we're talking about articles, I found this one quite interesting:

'I'm better off dead. I'm done': How Michael Jackson predicted his death six months ago | Mail Online

I don't think "too much salt in the diet" had anything to do with it.

Re: Michael Jackson dead at Age 50

I remember back when I was a kid, I was a real big MJ fan. I was always putting my "Thriller" album (Yes I said album as in LP or a Record as my mom calls them.)on and listening to "Billie Jean" while trying to moonwalk (Usually epically failing to do such). When I heard he had died I was in disbelief, so I sat in front of the TV just waiting for CNN to say he was ok since they were the only ones that hadn't reported he was dead.

I thought it was awesome how a bunch of MJ's fans crowded around the Apollo and the hospital to play his music and celebrate his life while dancing and singing along. I really really wished I could've been there. It is even awesome hearing other artists talk about how they met Michael and some of their memories with him, and how he influenced their lives. I felt like making a Anime AMV with a few of MJ's songs awhile ago, and I am definently going to do it now!

What I really want to hear about is the 100+ songs that they are saying he recorded and didn't release so his kids would have something to hold on to that the creditors cannot touch.

I remember back even in 2002ish I dressed up like MJ on "Celebrity Day" in highschool. I now have a great urge to do it on this Halloween lol. We had talked about getting together a group of people to do "Rock My World" at the school lip sync, but we ended up chickening out lol.

On Saturday I think I heard that there was an upsurge of people who bought his albums and many online and offline stores ran out of stock.

I just wanna throw this in... I'm tired of those people still bringing up old stuff about the child alligations. I said the other day "He was found innocent twice whether he did it or not, and that is now buried with him." He should always be remembered as the "King of Pop" and for his outstanding music and talents, that is the way it should be, not that other stuff.

I was just thinking that his funeral would be extra epic because there will be too many people trying to go. I can't even imagine what it would be like. If they ever bury him they'd have to put him under a statue of him like the one on this CD cover.

And to think not so long ago I posted about how Smooth Criminal was probably my favorite video of all times.

So, I'll just post it again.

Re: Michael Jackson dead at Age 50

If they do put up any kind of memorial around his grave...

For the love of God, please make the effigy of when he was still young & black, and not the freak he turned himself into towards the end. And so help me if we start seeing a wave of impersonators the way we did with Elvis... please, just don't do it.

Also, one last piece of pessimism; what are the odds people are going to be hawking MJ related items on Ebay and the like for untold sums of money? I guarantee you someone is trying to cash in on this somehow and it's just sickening. I read in the paper this morning that the family is currently planning the funeral and I gotta say it's a toughy;

On the one hand, he was the biggest star ever and the whole world likely wants to see/attend it. But on the other hand, isn't the family entitled to a private procession?

LOL Ray.

I seriously hate the regular version of Smooth Criminal, The Moonwalker version is the best. Speaking of that, if I ever see Moonwalker on Blu-Ray I'm buying it. I also need the DVD version.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if impersonators started popping out of the woodwork. There was already a fair amount of them before he passed.

Yeah, Either Young and Black or Young and fair skinned michael would be ok with me for a statue. It'd even be cool if they made a statue with both to commerate "Black & White."

That family? I would say no.

And anyway, I would say whatever the dead would've wished for is how things should be handled, not the family's choice. I have a hard time imagining that Michael would've wanted it to be private.

I don't even remember seeing the regular version of it.

But we seriously need Moonwalker on blu-ray. I'd probably buy it mainly for Smooth Criminal, but still.
