God I feel so sorry for Liam Neeson, his wife, the actress Natasha Richardson has died

Liam Neeson was "shocked and devastated" after his wife Natasha Richardson died following a horror ski crash.
The actress' life support machine was switched off at a New York hospital two days after the accident.

A spokesman said: "Liam Neeson, his sons (Micheal and Daniel) and the entire family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Natasha.." They are profoundly grateful for the support, love and prayers of everyone, and ask for privacy during this very difficult time."The exact cause of her death is still unknown. Natasha (45) fell over during a ski lesson on the slopes in Mont Tremblant near Quebec, but stood up laughing and said she felt fine.She was later rushed to hospital with severe headaches, and after being flown to a Montreal hospital was eventually declared brain dead and "flown to New York “to die” with her family by her side. Natasha was on a life support machine, 'People' magazine reported, and doctors diagnosed her as having a “blood clot between her brain and skull”.Husband Liam Neeson and the couple’s sons Michael (13) and Daniel (12) kept a vigil at her bedside at the Lenox Hill Hospital in New York. Her mother, Oscar-winning actress Vanessa Redgrave (72), her aunt Lynn Redgrave and her sister Joely Richardson also rushed to her side. The family are now mourning her loss.

I have to admit I don't know much about his wife, apparently she was more of a stage actress but did some films but I do like Liam Neeson. He was in The Lion the Witch and Wardrobe, Love Actually, Batman Begins, Star Wars Episode I and hmm.. there was that recent one, Taken I think it was called.

Yes, Taken was a awesome movie, and I liked his role in Batman Begins and Star Wars Episode 1 as well. That is sad though, I wish their family the best. I didn't know much about the wife either.

Apparently his wife was in Maid in Manhattan, that jennifer lopez movie or something but she won big awards for her stage acting.

lol I remember that movie. I don't remember her character, but the next time it comes on TV I'll look for her in it. After looking at IMDB, looks like she was in "The Parent Trap" The remake that came out in 1998 where Lindsay Lohan played her own twin lol.

Damned Celebrity Fetish... this is all we're gonna hear about in the news for the next few days. When George Carlin died not that long ago you didn't here a whole lot about it beyond the first night, which was OK. The guy was a legend IMO but he got his final respects in a timely fashion.

But I any time one something happens to one of these mega stars (and I'm not without sympathy here; it totally sucks she died. I doubt Mont Tremblant is gonna recover from this any time soon either business wise) the media goes into a feeding frenzy and it's all anyone talks about.

My condolences to her family, but Western Society really needs to get over the celebrity fetish. It's not healthy and a lot of these people really shouldn't be idolized like they are (and I don't just mean movie stars. Fuck Athletes)

LOL I got tired of hearing about that mess. The young girls are mad at Rihanna for not being a role model and dumping CB and CB's fans are mad at him for what he did....I say since nobody is actually saying anything other than the police reort, they should just let the whole thing die. There is more tabloid speculation about the CB/Rihanna mess and it just gets worse every day. I was done with it the other day when I read that they were "Taking a break" from each other LOL especially after they "Secretly got married." last week.

That's not how it is at all. Like some 50-60% of Chris Brown's fans collectively agree the whole ordeal was someway Rihanna's fault. Check out a few more "urbanized" message boards around the internet if you don't believe me. And young girls are stupid for looking up to any celebrity Rihanna who has gotten her ass beat by CB more than once already.

4/7 posters in this topic (at time of posting) did not know who Natasha was, or what she was famous for (without looking her up online). I included myself.

Hardly sounds like a mega star, and I doubt people are going to droll on all day about her for that reason. They're going to droll on all day about her because the mainstream media is defunct, and they probably have no real news to talk about.

My sympathies to the family, but, like Malacite hinted to, I'm tired of hearing about it already.

I have my doubts that this had anything to do with skiing. It sounds like a brain aneurysm. Basically a vein in your brain can develop a weak spot in the wall of the vein. As time goes on, the pulsing of the blood through the vein extends the weak spot into a sort of bubble. The bubble wall is very weak and strenuous exercise, hitting the area from a fall, high blood pressure, etc can cause the bubble to burst. Not all aneurysm's cause death, it really depends on the area and the size of the vein. My sister had a small one burst in her brain and was temporarily blinded and had some fine motor function issues but she lived. It makes sense that it could have been what happened to Natasha since there was a subsequent blood clot in her brain. Or it is possible that she fell during lessons and injured her brain, sometimes it doesn't take that much if you hit the right spot.

My bad I misspoke. I'm pretty sure you're right about most of CB's fans thinking it was somehow Rihanna's fault. I meant to say that some people in general are mad at CB for what he did to her. I also thought it was weird that Nickelodeon didn't withdraw his name from the kids choice awards because of the 5000+ parent requests to do so. I also think its funny that all these other stars/performers are commenting on it and right after the news members print what said performer said, they add things that they've allegedly done to their spouses and what not to turn the tables back on them. Pretty sure if they stay out of the limelight long enough, everybody will forget about it until the trial.
